"i'm afraid the guest room has some issues, sir" adelinde declared

"i see, are you able to sort it for tonight? he asked

"unfortunately not, my apologies" she replied

moco and hillie walked by, exchanging glances. adelinde looked at them to indicate to them to keep up the lie and to tend to the 'problems'

"it's quite alright, i can arrange something else" he sighed

"if it's a bother i could just walk back to headquarters, you've already done enough i don't want to cause any prob-" she said as she started walking towards the door

"no, absolutely not." he grabbed her arm "you're not going anywhere, you will stay here tonight. i insist"

"it's quite alright, i won't trouble you further" she attempted to free herself from his grip, but failed

"be quiet. you can sleep with me tonight" he stated as he proceeded to push her to his room

he didn't think about what he had said before he said it but as he was pushing her to his room he was deep in thought about it. he didn't know at the time how suggestive it sounded but now he had said it he didn't really care. though he had no intentions, he was doing it out of kindness after all

they reached his room, he closed the door. jean was very close to him. he couldn't care less

she was attempting to escape from his grip and and nearing the door, insisting on leaving and protesting as she tried

"it's really okay sir, i can go back to headquarters. i'll be fine" she protested

"you'll just go back and work yourself into unconsciousness and i won't let you do that to yourself, you're staying here whether you like it or not" he retaliated stubbornly

she gave a sigh and gave up, it's not like she was against the idea of sleeping aside the one and only diluc ragnvindr, she just felt as if he were being so nice to please her. it didn't take much to please her but she assumed that he thought she had high expectations

"hey, don't act so upset now. i'm doing this because i can't bear the burden if something bad happens to you on your way back" he tried to assure her

"that's all fine but are you absolutely sure this isn't troublesome to you?"

"i'm sure. now, i have a spare change of clothes if you want something comfy to sleep in. they're mine but i'm sure they'll fit you. i have something i need to do so use that time to change perhaps" he handed the clothes to jean and left to attend to his business

she changed into his clothes as instructed. they felt soft. they were slightly baggy on her but she didn't mind. they smelled just like him, she liked that about the clothes

after a few minutes there was a knock on the door and it was diluc

"come in" she said

he entered and without a word he tiredly dragged himself into bed, but making sure to leave room for his honoured guest

"you should sleep too, it's getting later" he said softly

she put herself next to diluc and the two laid in the darkness sleepily

"goodnight, sleep well" he whispered as the two drifted off to sleep for the night
