"Close the door, you're letting the cold air in." I told them. "And put everything on the dining table. The plates with the pancake and utensils! Not everything in the house!"
I ignored the faint amused chuckle of the hat wearing weirdo as I closed the bathroom door, before leaning against it. A sigh escaped my lips as I looked at my swimming goggles. Faint memories of me and my dad started to surface. Us going to the Ostsee, waterparks or other water related places together with my mum. Just when I thought I had lost another part of them...
It took me a while to get myself together, but once I had composed myself fully I stepped back into the living room and walked toward the dining table, on which Psyche had placed everything I had told them. The weirdo themself was sitting amused in one of the chairs, grinning at me with a smile that almost reminded me of the smile Kuro usually has on her face, shortly before she starts to ramble about some other anime or manga that she had indulged all her past time in.
A little tense I sat myself next to them at the end of the table and gave them a slightly confused look. They however just closed their eyes and smiled at me brightly, exposing their sharp teeth. I won't lie the sight was creepy. Maybe even more so than that creep Nore from school. Then an image of Nore's blank white eyes crossed my vision. A chill ran up my spine. ...Nore has a bigger creep factor than Psyche could ever have.
Slowly I helped myself to one of the pancakes, which were luckily still warm before serving myself a good amount of maple syrup, only stopping when I noticed that it might flow over. Luckily it halted right on the brim of the plate. Already wanting to dig in, I shot Psyche another glance.
"Don't you want to eat too?" I asked them.
"We rather not explode today." They grinned, waving one of their hands. "We already did." I gave them a look. "Sorry! Our stomach was making the rumblies, that only han... we mean pancake could satisfy."
"Did you just want to say hands?" I gave him another look and Psyche looked back at me wide eyed and in shock.
"You... you don't know about 'Lamas with hats'?" They asked me accusatory.
"No. Should I?" I threw back at them.
"Well, you don't need to, but we thought..." They seemed a little embarrassed. "Our deities, are we that old?"
"Yes." I blandly replied before starting to eat.
Psyche made some weird sounding whining noises before laying their head on the table. I looked at them unsympathetically while chewing on the first piece. It was not bad, I have to admit that, but maybe I had put too much syrup on it... well, I kind of drowned it to be honest.
"How old are you actually?" I wanted to know, using this time to ask questions was probably a good approach to get to know this weirdo better, considering I knew almost nothing about them.
"Old, as you said it yourself." They stated, slowly lifting their head back up, hat staying on the table but was swiftly put back into place. Giving them another look they continued with a shrug: "Old enough to do the adulating thing, we guess."
"So you're an adult?"
"Yes, and don't speak with your mouth full, gross."
I swallowed. "Don't you have any friends to nag?" I continued.
"Well, yes." They nodded with a bigger getting smile. "But we rather take care of a lonely child right now. That seems a little more important."
"Your social skills suck."
