That night in Alaska hadn't ended in the government busting into the bunker and killing them all like the nightmare did.

It ended very differently.

It ended with Sanyu disobeying a direct order to stay there. Half the world would be toast because of that bomb and regardless of the fact the Six were powerless to stop it the government thought it was there fault.

They would die if they were found. The government would send everyone in. Hell, they might just bomb them with drones if they thought it would get the job done faster.

There was no future for any of them if they let that missile hit the ground, yet the older members were just accepting that.

Lela was panicking in the bathroom. Sanyu wanted to go after her but Clementine had stopped him, saying it wasn't his place. Tao hadn't been in one place (or more accurately one time) in more than five minutes. Whisp and Jackson were cooking dinner like nothing was wrong.

They were a mess. The shambles of a team.

Sanyu had gotten off the couch, still wrapped in the blanket Jackson had given him, and walked around. He found himself sorting through the items from the mission that had gone wrong only 5 hours before.

Then he found it. A burner device that was still tracking the missile's movement. Tracking it to right off the coast of Alaska, where they were right now.

And that's when Sanyu realized how to fix everything.

His powers let him absorb energy. He could absorb the missile and the high powered energy core that was set to detonate.

It was over the ocean at the time, but he could make it work. He could take it into the water and suck everything out of it. Without thinking he grabbed the tracker and moved to the door.

"What are you doing?"

Sanyu flinched violently. Kirishima gave him a worried expression. "You were about to fall out of your chair." The teen explained, his voice coming in slightly muffled over the intercom. Turns out the simulation came with the sounds of a real helicopter, meaning they had to use headsets to be able to hear each other.

"Sorry." He said quickly, "I was lost in thought.". The boy shot him a worried expression but nodded.

"Alright kiddos." Marsh said. He was the pro hero meant to supervise them during the exercise. He was an interesting looking person looking halfway between an 80s lagoon monster and a normal person. "You'll climb down the rope ladder, mind the wind-it's strong. I start the timer the moment one of you touches the rope. Double check your life jackets are secure.".

The students obliged and checked their jackets, shooting the pro hero a thumbs up when they were ready.

"I'll fly down." Sanyu said first. "It will cut the time to reach the passengers in half.". The other two nodded.

"I'll go down the ladder first then." Mina said with a smile. "I'll go second then." Kirishima said, "We've got this, guys.".

The other two nodded. Sanyu took off his headset and made his way to the edge of the helicopter. The artificial wind whipped through his hair reminding him of how much it had grown since the last time he did this.

Marsh gave him a thumbs up and a smile so Sanyu took that as his clue to jump.

His feet hit the deck of the ship and it shook to life. Slowly, ever so slowly, it started sinking.

The smell of salt and sea air combined with the lighting and wind were making it hard for the boy to think. That was okay though, he didn't need to think on missions.
