Had to design an alphabet with a connecting theme for my 2D design class, either based on something already existing or something original. I chose my theme to be pokemon, specifically ones found in the Kanto region, save for a few Johto ones if I couldn’t find any Kanto ones that would work well

I decided to put some rules in place for myself in the beginning

1: The pokemon had to have a name starting with the letter they’re representing
2: The pokemon had to be found in the Kanto region, or the Johto region, and that’s only if I couldn’t work with the Kanto ones
3: If I used a pokemon, I couldn’t use a different state of that pokemon. For example, because I used Jolteon, I couldn’t use Eevee, or any other eeveelution (which made me a bit sad because I liked the Eevee sketch I did for ‘E’ (also, Eevee and the eeveelutions are my favourite pokemon species). Maybe I’ll use the sketch some other time)
4: I had to use the Kanto starters in different states of evolution, ie, I used Charmander (first form), so I could not use Squirtle or Bulbasaur, but I could still use their other forms/evolutions

Originally, I had plans to use mythical creatures/cryptids around the world (ie, a Gorgon head for ‘G’, the Teke Teke for ‘T’, the bunyip or banshee for ‘B’) , but that turned out to be overly complex. Then I was going to use different plants/flowers, but I wasn’t interested or passionate enough about that to motivate myself to do it, so eventually I landed on pokemon which helped motivate me to finish this project

Pokemon, both the designs and the franchise, don’t belong to me
