-PRESENT-

No, No, No, No!

My mind is racing, My heart is pounding, My hand is shaking.

Adele is alive, everyone knows it now, even Ricky.

"Now I'm giving you 6 an opportunity, don't let me regret it." Ricky speaks emotionlessly.

But none of us speak, not even goddamn felix. His hands clutch the metal chair, I could see the reddening begin.

"You'll be provided with the supplies, guns, money, tech, whatever you need to complete this mission. The faster your 0009 is executed the faster the threat to me is eliminated." He continued. But im processing everything so quickly none of it makes sense. 0009, adele, 0009, adele, roman, adele, felix, 0009.

"Any questions?"

The air-vent is the only sound in the room, and it remains.

"Mhm, Dont fuck this up." And that's it, he leaves. He leaves. I run my fingers through my hair, the air feels moist against my neck or it's the sweat running down my neck.

The door bangs open, we all look directly up, the tension rises as men begin placing guns, ammunition, burner phones.

I gulp the saliva filling my throat, this is real.

Another man walks in and throws a duffel bag at the table, "1 million in cash."

Never use a credit card on a mission, everything eventually will catch up to you if you do.

1 million dollars, 1 million dollars is what we need to kill Adele.

I forget the boys are experiencing the same thing as me, I turn to Derek who's already watching me. His eyes were swelling, hands shaking.

I'm his eyes we know, if we kill Adele I'll be the reckoning of our lives and if we don't she'll be the reckoning of our lives.

By now all our equipment is on the table laid out for us.

It's quiet, still.

"We need to check CCTV cameras, that's where we'll start by tracking her down." Roman speaks out and by all our surprise we turn to him. His face faces forwards and he's starting to look like Ricky with no emotion. But I think he's putting effort to find adele for answers.

"Fucking hell!" Felix yells as he stands up and throws the chair he's been sitting in across the room.

This is going to hurt him the most.

The guys start loading the equipment into the SUV meanwhile Derek walks off to the bathroom. I glance back at the guys who look like dead corpses hauling in materials. They'll be fine without me for 5 minutes, I begin following Derek to the bathroom.

Derek has always been a fast walker, never usually slows down for anyone. When my feelings for him began I noticed everything about him. The way he laughed, the way he yawned in his arm instead of widemouth. The way he hates loud noises.

Derek is the first man I've dated. I couldn't figure out my sexuality in my teen years. Especially with my religious parents persuading me.

But with Derek I felt free from the world. I felt free from my parents, anything going on he was there to ease it away. And that's what I needed now, I needed him.

He opens the bathroom door and enters. I follow swiftly behind. Less than 20 seconds later I pushed the door open. Lips come crashing at me causing me to push against the doorframe. I gasp but instantly know its derek.

My hand drags up to his head, throwing it back for me to caress his neck. We're both messed up badly, but this is what we need, it's what we need.

Nothing about this moment is happy, it's rough, fragile, even sad.

I push us into a bathroom stall, when I look under the stall he assuress me nobody else is here. I exchange a glance and trail my lips up his throat. I hear him murmur my name. I murmur his name back and trial my hand up his chest. "I-" Before I finished the bathroom door creaked open.

Our bodies freeze and we quickly stand on top of the toilet seat.

It could be anyone, but in this building everyone has one boss, Ricky.

I glance up at Derek who's watching me already, he has a thing for that. Our stare intensifies once the person steps in, we are in the first stall, I feel relaxed knocking. I locked the stall door but one look into the line dividing the door from the wall could be the end of us.

The person walks by and is wearing all black.

He goes unknown and a silent sign of relix pours over me when he ignores the first stall but he goes through the one on our left. The only thing that divides us is a thin wall which doesn't even give us full coverage, if we make a noise, we are caught. If we step onto the ground, we are caught.

A phone dialing sound drowns out the silence, the person on the other line answers. We both listen carefully.

"It's Ricky."
