It's been two years, three months, fourteen days, and twelve minutes since I lost my wife to my job as an SSA for the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the F.B.I.
I quit, not only because I lost her, but also because I was now the sole parent to our then five year old son, Oliver. I see him keeping busy at home by playing video games when he's not doing his homework. He still tells me 'I love you, Daddy,' and blows me kisses when I ask him to.
We blow out candles for Maeve's birthday on a cake she'll never get to eat with us, again.
This year, however... this year will be different.
