Six|| "Are you sure?"

Hope POV

"Come on." I said to Maya before pulling her arm and bring her to the kitchen.

"What's up?"I asked Maya

"I just wanted to come check on you... I heard what happened to you and your mother." She says

"Thanks for checking up on me." I said

"I should have told you that I was stopping by instead of just showing up but I was in the neighborhood" she says

"And why would you be in the neighborhood?" I asked

She nervously smiled.

"Don't be mad.. we kind of been broken up for almost 3 months now.. so I started dating again." She says

I smiled.

"Are you happy?" I asked

"Uhh, it's new but she makes me happy a lot." She says

"I'm happy that you are happy." I said

"Same for you.. I know love when I see it and you and Josie definitely have something going on." She says

"Maybe. But I'm glad we can be friends now and I really miss spending time with you maya.." I said

"Me too" she says before hugging me.

I hugged back and smiled.

I then heard someone clear their throat.

Me and maya pulled away from the hug.

"Hope... a word?" Josie asked

Maya just smiled at her.

"Good luck." Maya says

"Thanks?" I say

"I'm going to go... I have to watch my nieces but I do want us to hang out more." Maya says

"Same. I look forward to it to." I said

"Okay.. bye hope..." maya says

"Bye." I said

"Bye Josie." Maya says

Josie looked at maya up and down and then rolled her eyes.

Maya chuckled before leaving out.

"I'm going to take Lizzie home." Cece says

"Okay." I said

"Bye.. don't kill her too much sis" Lizzie says

"No promises." Josie says with a smile.

They then left.

"That's up Josie?" I asked

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" She asked

"What are you talking about now?" I asked

"What's going on with you and maya?" She asked

"She's my friend... in fact.. she's dating again." I said

"And she came all this way to tell you that?" She asked

"No.. she was in the neighborhood and she was worried about me and how I'm dealing with my mom." I said

"Mhmm... are you sure that's not code for 'I want to fuck you' because if it is then I will be forced to drown her." Josie says

I chuckled.

"I'm not playing Hope." She says

"I never said you were amore mio, I was just chuckling at how cute you are when your jealous." I said
