Place in Timeline; Takes place a little bit before, around the time Eclipse is 7/8 moons.

During this, Eclipse is essentially always singing/talking.

Italics is the song / normal is what happens.

[Opening] / Eclipse is sitting in front of the leader's den while everyone else is doing something. His ears are flat and he looks sad.

Safe behind this windows and these parapets of stone / Eclipse begins lamenting, claws scratching at the edges of the den and looks around at the cavern.

Gazing at the people down below me / Eclipse looks down at the clan, where there are markers, stone speakers and warriors are doing everything that they should.

All my life I watch them as I hide up here alone / Eclipse looks back into the den, seeming to wander to the further walls, sitting.

Hungry for the history they've shown me / Eclipse looks at some paintings and marks done by the markers that show their history.

All my life I memorise their faces / Eclipse looks aside, some of the markings changing to cats of GrottoClan, with faded memories of others that he hasn't met yet/doesn't remember (Hollyheart, Bluebellheart specifically)

Knowing them as they will never know me / Eclipse moves out a paw towards the marking that looks like Hollyheart, before it fades as he touches it.

All my life I wonder how it feels to pass a day / Eclipse looks to the exits of the leader's den.

Not above them / Eclipse starts to smile, trotting towards the cavern exits, getting faster.

But part of them / He starts running through, tail flicking.

And out there, living in the sun / Eclipse stands at the entrance to the leader's den, looking about as he smiles.

Give me one day out there, all I ask is one, to hold forever / Eclipse looks at the grotto in their camp as he leaps down one of the stones.

Out there, where they all live unaware / Eclipse looks back over the camp, the other warriors and members seeming to not be paying much attention, being in another world.

What I'd give, what I'd dare / Eclipse starts to leap down the other stones.

Just to live one day out there / Eclipse leaps down, looking out at the camp and the caverns where they go through too.

Out there among the millers and the weavers and their wives / Eclipse runs through, smiling as he dodges different warriors, markers and stone speakers all doing different things, stopping as he sees some of the apprentices practicing in another one of the smaller caves for it.

Through the roofs and gables I can see them / Eclipse is watching Flamepaw practice, looking both longing but still excited.

Ev'ry day they shout and scold and go about their lives / Eclipse turns and keeps running as he watches members of GrottoClan using each of their skills.

Heedless of the gift it is to be them / Eclipse rolls his eyes, almost like scoffing as he runs through the main exit cavern, seeming to be older, as though he were a warrior.

If I was in their skin I'd treasure ev'ry instant / Eclipse is standing at the exit into the forest, and runs out of the forest, sun beaming brightly.

Out there, strolling by the Seine / Eclipse smiles as he walks by one of the lakes, watching fish leap out and through it.

Taste a morning out there, like ordinary men / Eclipse leaps up on some stones, letting the wind blow through his fur.

Who freely walk about there, just one day and then / Eclipse leaps down, running through the forest.

I swear I'll be content, with my share / Eclipse looks through the forest, still running, as the grass starts to slowly turn back to the rocky stone. 

Won't resent, won't despair / Eclipse is jumping over stones, as trees start to turn back into the cavern, Eclipse looking back to his smaller self.

Old and bent, I won't care / The forest seems to become the cavern again, Eclipse leaping up the stones back to the leader's den.

I'll have spent, one day, out there / Eclipse is back up at the front of the leader's den, looking out at GrottoClan. Though he seems wistful, theres a small hint of anger and jealousy with him.
