"You're one to talk, Joanna. I don't think book smarts are going to save you out here." Val said.

"You're teamed up with the weakest fighter. I don't think you should be saying anything." Sawada jeered back. They both were glaring intensely at the both of you. You could tell this was not going to end well.

"Well if we are gonna do this, let's do it away from all the precious ice cream." Val began walking closer to them, causing them to step outside.

"You guys should have kept Eve with you, her nen ability would have made me keep my distance." Joanna's comment made Val take a swing immediately, it must have hit a nerve. Before his swing makes it to Joanna, Sawada blocks him, punching him across the jaw. This knocks Val off of his feet.

He goes to kick Val, but you push him and slash a knife across his stomach. Joanna gasps, running to help him. They completely ignored your existence because they were so certain you were defenseless, which was why they never saw you coming. A simple knife wound was enough to throw him off. This was easy.

As Joanna is running toward him, Val grabs her by the leg, causing her to fall. He immediately gets on top of her and grabs her by the neck.

"Don't touch her!" Sawada doesn't even have a chance to move before you jump on his back and stab him in the throat. You then conjure blades in your legs and chest, making it feel like he's being embraced by blades.

You couldn't believe you were capable of something like this. The second you felt Val was in danger, you didn't even think, you just moved. You would have never imagined you would kill anyone so brutally.

Meanwhile, Val was using his nen ability on Joanna. You had never seen it in action before. " Immerse Flood." Val whispered.

You could see a glowing aura transfer from his hand to her body, and almost immediately she began to cough up water. He had begun filling her lungs entirely with water, she was drowning.

Sawada fell to his knees and then to the ground, gurgling on his blood. Within a minute, you got the notification on your watch that they were both dead.

Seeing the notification snapped you back into reality. You felt your stomach sink, you had just killed someone for the first time. Sawada, someone you had known for years, someone who had a full life ahead of them— was killed by you? You felt sick thinking about it. The morbid sight of them made you throw up, you just couldn't help yourself.

You felt a hand on your back, making you jump. "Are you alright? Did you get hurt?" Val's face is filled with concern. His eyes look sorrowful, you can tell he didn't like that either. It all happened so fast.

How were you going to be able to do something like that again and again? You were feeling like you might not make it out. "I've never killed someone before."

You both walked back into the ice cream shop, not able to look at the sight of them for a moment longer.

The two of you sat in silence for a while. While you were deep in thought, Val holding a towel came into your view. "You should clean yourself up and get some sleep. You look so exhausted."

He was right. You were exhausted, it was just now night and you had already taken someone's ability and killed another. That was a lot for your body to handle. You hardly had any energy from how much aura you were using.

You grabbed the towel from him and began to wipe all of the blood off of you. You walked over to the mirror hanging on the wall behind the counter. The second you saw your reflection you felt sick all over again. You were still covered in blood. You also noticed your roots were extremely red and your eyes looked like they were spiraling. It had been a long time since you looked at yourself in the mirror. You felt disgusted by the sight.
