Across the wasteland, there were many abandoned houses. It made you wonder what this used to be. You picked one randomly and checked to make sure you were alone. You then enter the room that looks like it used to be a kitchen and just take a seat on a chair. You had no clue what you were going to do. You were going to have to make a plan.
You knew that everyone would probably be keeping to their usual friend groups until they couldn't. That would probably be the smartest route. The highest skilled people would probably gun for the weakest first. Going after the strongest first made more sense in your head, why not get them out of the way?
You ran your hand across the tattoo on your arm, observing the blankness. If you were to steal someone's aura, they would still have to be alive for you to even use it. But you didn't even have to steal abilities to have a way to kill them. What was the best route?
"What am I thinking?" You whispered to yourself. You could hardly believe you were thinking about who you should kill first, or killing anyone in general. And what could you even do? Val and Eve probably saw you as weak. How would you even be able to find them at this point without running into trouble? You knew you were capable of beating any of them, but you were afraid you wouldn't be able to kill someone.
What kind of game was this? How can you kill people for your gain like this? It's sick.
You hear the front door open, making you jump. "I have to survive. No matter what." You whispered. You made your way slowly toward the wall closest to the front room, attempting to see who had walked in. You had grabbed a rusty knife from one of the drawers as if it would do anything when it came down to it.
You had such good control over your aura flow and abilities you were sure no one stood a chance. You were sure that the person that walked in didn't even know you were present. You began to turn the corner quickly, keeping your defenses up as you did.
When you make it around the wall, you noticed it was Eve standing on the other side. She is startled by your quick movement and already has a weapon ready. You were very observant of everyone's nen abilities when training earlier on. You picked up on Eve having one of the better combat abilities out of everyone. The ability she had was Instant Blade.
From what you observed, she could conjure any kind of blade she wanted. It could be big, small, wide, even dull if she wished. It was amazing. She could even conjure them as a part of her, making it impossible to break from her hands. The only downside you noticed was that they eventually broke. She had a good chance of winning if she used it correctly.
"You scared the shit out of me!" You shouted and then put down your weapon. "I'm so happy it's you." You expected her to feel just as relieved as you, but she still seems tense. She still looked pale and her eyes were very wide.
"Is everything alright?" You take a step closer to her, but she steps back. You noticed she was shaking.
"Don't come any closer to me."
"Relax. I'm not going to kill you. Are you crazy?" You couldn't believe she was being defensive of you. She did not trust you as you had thought. "I thought we were a team?"
"Don't make this harder than it has to be. Only one of us can graduate." It seemed like you were the only one trying to think of other ways than killing. They had all just accepted that this was how it was going to be. It was something you could never understand. You had different morals.
"I have an idea, I can get us both out of here! L-" Before you can finish, she cuts you off.
"Enough! We are in the middle of nowhere, y/n. And I'm sorry, but I can't work with you." You had a feeling this might happen. You were too weak according to the rankings, but you thought she knew better.
