"What the hell, Eve? You know those stats don't mean shit if that's what you're referring to." You were still attempting to persuade someone that had already made their choice. You wanted to try and make it out working together, but you were starting to realize you might be on your own.

"If only one of us can get out of this, it's going to be me. I'm sorry. I'm stronger." She said firmly, but you could tell she felt bad. You could understand her viewpoint, she wanted to live.

"We can both live. I promise." You move closer to her and try to put your hand on her cheek, but she slaps your hand away. In an instant, she grabs you by the hair and slams your head on the table next to both of you.

"Stop making this so hard!" Your ears are ringing, but you still manage to sit up. For some reason you never thought she would hurt you, especially so soon. That was your problem, you put too much trust into people. It was time to start looking out for yourself a little more. But you weren't going to kill her.

She bends down and goes to punch you, but you act quickly and grab her arm, pulling her down to the ground. She quickly conjures a blade and swings it at you, but you omit Ken , defending yourself from her attack and pushing her away.

"Eve, how do you feel right now? Do you even care you're trying to kill your only friend here?" You're starting the process for your ability, Aura Sponge. This would actually be the first time using it like this, so you had no clue if it would even work. If she wouldn't work with you, you would do it all yourself, but with her ability.

"Of course I do! It kills me I have to do this to you." That was all you needed, you could even see tears forming in her eyes. "I never realized you were this strong— but you won't beat me."

You grab her by the arm, not responding to her. She goes to defend herself, but you stop her. "Stop! Let me tell you something." She hesitates but doesn't attack you. She gives you her full attention, she really does care.

"I never knew it would come to this. But I still want us both to live, no matter what." You were talking to pass the time and to explain your plan to her. You were hoping she wouldn't freak out before ten seconds passed. "When I get you out of this, I want you to go live your best life, Eve."

Once the purple-colored aura began to form around you she began to panic, but she couldn't move. You couldn't believe it was actually working. The amount of aura that was pouring into your body was so abundant it hurt. You were holding more life energy than the average human. Once the transfer was complete, Eve fell limp.

"W-what is happening to me?" You wondered how she was feeling right now. You imagined it was like a virus taking all your life energy. As for you, you felt alive. It wouldn't last long, because using any abilities makes you feel exhausted, but this was brand new for you.

You looked down at your tattoo, and one of the spots was filled in. Your first reaction is to stand up and test the ability. You immediately conjured a blade so fast that it fell from your hand, accidentally swinging it into the wall in front of you.

"Holy shit — that's awesome!" You laughed, almost forgetting Eve was nearly unconscious on the floor. "I'm sorry, but this is for the best. I need your ability to make things work out, for the both of us." You sat on the floor next to her, trying to keep her conscious.

"I'm going to make sure we both survive this." You gave her a reassuring look, but she was still confused about what had just happened to her.

"H-how?" She was so weak she could barely get her words out, you could hardly believe you could do something like that to someone.
