In The Light// Station 19 x Reader

𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢

Have you ever grabbed a doorknob or gone to push an elevator button and you get shocked? Electrical currents are all over the place safely encased in rubber and hidden out of reach, but they're there. They're always there.

"So, hold on. Herrera and Bishop are on a stakeout." Warren asked walking to the tar "Like a... Like a stakeout-
stakeout?"

"It's standard procedure if cops are planning a bust where somebody could get hurt." Travis shrugged "it's pretty routine. Happens like once a month."

"Roll call, everybody." Jack said quietly as he walked into the room

"I want to go on a stakeout." Miller looked up from his bowl

"Same." Warren agreed

"Mnh-mnh. Nope. No, you don't."Travis shook his head

"It takes hours of just sitting there doing absolutely nothing." Y/n chuckled

"Until something awesome happens and a swarm of good guys run in, yells at some bad guys, and then somebody busts through a giant glass window on a rope." Miller added making them raise their brows

"Yeah, you know, I'm sure it goes down just like that." Hughes nodded as she took a sip of her eater

"Guys, come on. Let's get going." Jack tried again and y/n looked up at him this time standing up putting her bowl in the sink, the rest of them continued talking

"Oh yeah" Miller nodded at vic

"Guys!" Jack yelled finally gaining their attention "Roll call. I think today's a good time for inventory and routine maintenance checks. Every tool, every hose."

"Jack, what happened to doing things on our own schedule?" Travis asked looking at him

"That's a very good question, Travis." Pruitt stepped forward "Maybe Gibson is rethinking his approach of doing whatever he wants whenever he wants."

They awkwardly looked away until Jack spoke up "y/n, warren, you're on hoses. Tanner and montgomery, check the rigs. Hughes and Miller, tool maintenance. "

"And for me today, Gibson?" Pruitt looked at him

"Well, you're at reception, sir." Jack nodded "same as always."

"Good thing" Pruitt hit Jack making him go off balanced

"Chore time."jack regained his balance "Let's see that hustle."

He clapped as the rest of them stood up, Vic quickly ate a bite of cereal before setting the bowl down "Let's go."

"Okay, is it me, or is Captain Herrera's grumpy level, like, grumpier today?" Warren asked as he walked to the group

"Yeah, what was going on with him and Jack at breakfast?" Y/n asked looking up at him

"I don't like tension with my granola." Vic pointed at Miller "Here. Toss me that wrench.

Miller shrugged "I just don't like granola"

"It's weird, right?" Travis asked as he checked the saw

"I mean, there's definitely something going on between him and Jack." Travis added with a nod

"How are those chores going?" Jack asked them as he walked into the room

"Uh... Great." Warren said as they all got nervous

"They're done" y/n nodded

Travis stood up awkwardly "That's what we were talking about were the chores."
