I watched as Izzy stood behind the mic by herself while the rest of the group stood behind her doing back up vocals. She wrote a gospel song in honor of her mom who is a Christian and to symbolize her source of strength since the incident. Of course she is still Muslim, but she wanted to write something that the majority of her fans could connect to. The girls stood behind her belting out the background vocals. I can't even lie, the aura in the stadium was unreal when she sang that song. The dimming of the lights, the emotions she expressed in her face while singing, and of course her powerful voice brought everybody, including me, to tears.
The few people that were in the auditorium (mainly stage crew) clapped before preparing the scene for their next song. We've been in here since 5:00pm rehearsing for the first show of the tour, which will be here in Rochester. I watched as the girls scurried to the back of the stage behind the glass cover prompt which had their logo on it.
