The other guy has his hair swept to one side, pushing his eyeglasses up as he observe our house. Wearing a checkered polo-shirt and dark trousers. His eyes were like blue star in a broad daylight.

My mother suddenly came from behind and walked towards them. Pinagbuksan niya sila ng gate at sumenyas na pumasok sila. Huh, pareho ko namang kinukwento silang tatlo kay Mama noong nasa hospital ako. I was even in the verge of crying whenever I remember those scenes.
Haah. . . what a great character development. Hmm~ kaya ko nang mag-open up kay Mama! Since that day that I learned she was a former FBI agent, I realized I didn't know anything about her past. It just sucks na nakilala niya ang papa ko at naging ganito nalang ang buhay. When I asked her how their love story went, ayaw niya raw munang pag-usapan 'yon. Someday, she'll tell me.
"Just Newt?! Really, Cassien Agreste? What do you even see in this emo?!" Ranpo unbelievably asked as he jerked his thumb to the weird guy next to him.
"Manahimik ka." Sinamaan naman ng tingin ni Mama si Ranpo. "Mas interesting si Newt kaysa sa 'yo."
Mom may be hostile towards Ranpo pero alam kong nagbibiro lang naman siya kasi iniisip niya rin ito kanina habang naghahanda ng tanghalian para sa bisita namin. Nai-stress pa nga siya kung anong klase ng chocolate ang bibilhin niya. Had to admit, muntik na maubos ang pera namin para lang sa dalawang bisitang 'to.
"Tama," I replied, agreeing with Mom. "Feeling VIP ka kasi, ni isang like ay hindi mo man lang mai-reply sa messenger!"
"Well, aren't I a very important person? You wouldn't even survive that fire if it weren't for me."
"Napakayabang!" singhal ko. "O, sige, pagbigyan. Ikaw na ang hero!"
"Sure, wanna be the heroine?"
"E 'di wow!"
We ushered both of them inside and invited them to take a seat in a couch. Habang pinagmamasdan silang mag-usap tungkol sa designs ng bahay namin, hindi ko maiwasang sumimangot. Someone's missing.
