Not only because he didn't know what the card said and if he would even pick Yeonjun for it, but also because Yeonjun kept smelling Beomgyu's scent and it made his head spin.
He didn't know if this qualified as a scent, but Beomgyu smelled like a flower field on a rainy day. It wasn't obnoxious but it was hard to miss.
Yeonjun nearly jumped out of his skin upon feeling a pair of arms wrap around him from behind as Beomgyu exclaimed "I caught you!"
Yeonjun's heart began racing as Beomgyu held on for a good few seconds. Beomgyu's giggles echoed in his ear, and Yeonjun grew even dizzier. God, how he loved that little giggle.
Eventually, to Yeonjuns dismay, Beomgyu let go and walked away to sit back down. Not very far tho, he sat right next to Yeonjun.
"Beomgyu, why did you pick Yeonjun for this?" Kwanghee asked.
Yeah. Why did you pick me for this? And what exactly did you pick me for?
"I picked him because he's been like this to me the most since our debut, he'd always encourage me to not let my mistakes get to my head. I think in a way he sees me like this." Beomgyu answered.
This just made Yeonjun even more nervous and curious.
"Oh, that's sweet. So this would describe the relationship between you two?" Eunhyuk asked.
"Yes." Beomgyu nodded with a smile.
"Well, let's see the card!" Eunhyuk exclaimed.
Yeonjun peeled back the paper to reveal the prompt and read it out loud.
"This member is the most like a brother to me." He said.
Oh.
Disappointed. Yeonjun was disappointed. For the sake of the cameras, he had to pretend to be happy to be picked, but in reality, he couldn't be more heartbroken.
He quickly replaced his frown with a smile.
"Since he is the oldest, I think we all really see him like an older brother. He always takes care of us in small ways, but he does tend to baby Beomgyu a little more." Soobin chimed in.
"Yeah, I'm an only child. I always wanted a sibling growing up but it never happened. Now with them, they're like the little brothers I never got to have as a kid." Yeonjun added. He needed to agree to this. He had to. Another price to pay for being an idol. "Even though he gets on my nerves daily, you can't deny he's really cute when he wants to be."
"Yeah, that's true. He has his moments." Soobin laughed.
The hosts then moved on to the next member. Yeonjun was eternally grateful for that, he couldn't take it anymore. Referring to Beomgyu as his little brother considering his situation just felt wrong. The words tasted like poison.
By the end of the shoot, Yeonjun was barely able to keep up with the segments but he did to the best of his abilities. By the end, he was just glad it was over.
Back in the dressing rooms, Yeonjun got dressed in the clothes he came in and met the rest of the members in the waiting room. They were playing around as usual.
"Yeonjun, can I talk to you for a minute?" Soobin asked him quietly from behind.
Yeonjun frowned in confusion, but he agreed nonetheless. He followed Soobin back into one of the dressing rooms.
"Are you okay?" Soobin asked.
Yeonjun furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yeah, why?" He replied.
