Both felt the tension in the air raising and the need to bring it down.

" Shalini paatu kekalam",Arjun said softly.

Shalini sat straight and looked down unable to look into his eyes," neeye podu"

He played her favourite song and closed his eyes leaning back on the headrest. Her favourite song was playing but she couldnt enjoy and kept looking at him wondering what was going on in his mind. She wondered if he was thinking about her or listening to the song.

" Arjun"

He opened his eyes and looked at her," sollu ma"

"Nejamave pudikuma?",she asked

"Romba pudikum."

" konja naal kaluchi pudikama poiduchuna"

"Apdi oru nall intha jenmathula varathu"

"Promise?"

"Promise", he reached out to her hand and gently pressed it in assurance.
She turned his hand,palm facing upwards and slowly slid her hand into his as he gently interlocked their fingers.

Both looked at each other for a moment with a smile plastered on their face. She then leaned back closing her eyes placing her head on the headrest. Her heartbeat finally calmed down. That was all she wanted to hear. That promise he made is the only thing she wanted to remember for the rest of her life when she thinks about him.

He kept looking at her fondly for a few minutes before closing his eyes trying to retain the memory of one of the most beautiful moment in his life.

The bus finally reached banglore and it was just another 20 minutes ride to reach z college in Banglore. It was early in the morning and Rohit was the first to wake up. He stretched himself and noticed his friends in deep slumber. He slowly walked to the front to talk to the driver and noticed shalini and Arjun sleeping , leaning on each other and holding hands.
He gasped and quickly went to wake up Varun.

"Varun macha enthiri da", he shook his shoulder.

Varun struggled to open his eyes, " munnadi enna nadanthutu iruku nee thoongitu iruka"

" enna da"

" nee mothala va da"

Varun hesitated to get up," enna nu ingaye sollu da enala ipo elunthuka mudiyathu"

" yen da seat la...", just then he noted him holding Hasini's hands and gasped dramatically

Varun smiled sheepishly , " kai ah vitta elunthupa da paavam thala vali la seriyave night ellam thoongala"

" Dei varum bothu thani thaniya thaana da vanthom aana neenga panrathellam paatha pogum pothu kolanthaiyoda thaan povinga pola"

"Dei imsa panama pinnadi poi okaruda innum 15 mins la eranganum"

The campus was filled with high energy. The resonating pumped up music and the colorful decorations was a treat to the eyes and ears. Thousands of students were present and the energy of so many people in the atmosphere was palpable. Everyone was moving busy with one thing or the other.The ambience of the place was surreal.

The organizing college had volunteers everywhere guiding and helping other college students with the events. Arjun and Varun along with the professors were waiting in the front desk for registration.

After registration they were allotted hostel rooms for their two days stay.

" dei boys hostel keys kuduthutanga girls hostel keys mattum wait panni vangitu poga solirkanga .pasangala poi refresh aaga sollu naama ivanga keys vangi kuduthutu polam", Arjun said and handed over the keys to Bala.

Arjun, Varun and Rohit were waiting with the rest of the girls and professors.

" Sir the accommodation committee head is bringing the keys herself. While you wait can you please check the name list once again for confirmation?", one of the students of the organizing committee handed over the list to Arjun. Arjun and Varun were going through the list when they heard a familiar voice.

"Hi Sorry for making you wait so long. I ..", words stuck in her throat when she saw the men standing before her

Arjun and Varun looked up with their eyes wide in shock. Both looked at each other and gulped before looking at her.

" Ethuku ivanga rendu perum ipdi mulikiranga?" Hasini softly spoke to shalini standing beside her

" athaan purilla", she tapped on Rohit's shoulder who was pleasantly surprised seeing the girl, " Anna yen ipadi nikaranga rendu perum, yaar athu?"

" hey athu Aishu enga friendu", he said cheerfully
