When The Puppet Falls For The Puppeteer

Ten years ago

It was the first day of middle school and I was late. Mom partied harder the night before, woke up late have dropped me off late. Nothing new, a usual occurrence in our house.

I kissed mommy goodbye and ran inside the school, Ash was not at gate and that annoyed me. It's our first day, we were supposed to go in together. But I was late too, how can I blame her. I guess the first period might have already started. I was running on the stairs and my pigtails were bouncing with my every step. I busted into a what felt like a steel wall and fell on my butt "Ouch!" I screamed as it hurt.

"Watch where you are going!! Are your eyes made of buttons! Stupid Red head" I heard a very angry voice. I looked up to see a very angry boy. Looking around my age or maybe a year or two older, twelve or thirteen max yet was so different. His whole aura was so different. His voice was for sure deeper than any twelve year old boy I heard and his demeanor screams danger. He looked more tougher, and his eyes. He had deep blue angry eyes. They were throwing icy daggers at me right now. And Jesus he was so rude and I didn't like it, how can he be so rude it's our first day I didn't even know him and he screamed at me.

I pulled myself off the floor and pushed him with all my strength with my both hands on his chest though he didn't fall but I managed to budge him a little. He looked at me and kept looking at me with an unknown emotion.

"Hey you bumped into me too, and I fell you should be sorry, don't yell at me", I whined and the next moment I was on the floor, he slapped me. No one ever slapped me. He slapped me so hard that even one of my pig tails loosened and I started crying. 

He pulled me up with my loosened pigtail loosening it further. "How dare you talk to me in that tone? STOP CRYING!" He bellowed in anger and I wiped my tears scared of him. "But-" "Shutup!" He shouted making me jump and I shut up that instant.

"Now what you said about saying sorry. I didn't bump into you, you did while running recklessly and now you pushed me too. So who should be sorry, huh Red" he scolded me and I looked down as if a child got caught by his teacher.

"B-but yo-you hit me" I said in low voice scared but I wanted to make my point too.

"Yeah because I can and I will again if you don't say sorry in the next five seconds" he said stepping towards me and I took a step back "Say it, Red" he said in an angry tone and I caved in. One because I was scared of him and other I want to end this conversation and run away "I-I am so-sorry" I stuttered "That's better, now run along before I loose my patience again", well I need not to be told twice.

I ran and I ran straight to the principal's office, because my mommy said that if anybody troubles me I should tell it to the Head mistress. Crying I told everything that happened. I complaint about the boy who hit me and bullied me.

"It's okay child, here have some water", she said patting my back and gave me a glass of water that I gulped. "Tell me what's his name" she asked "I don't know his name ma'am" I told her honestly "Oh child how will I punish him then", she inquired "I-I think he must be older than me. He looks like a senior and also new I guess, I never saw him before in town" I told her thinking this might help "hmmmm...." she said not much but I think she recognized whom I was talking about. "Don't worry kiddo. Just don't talk to him anymore. I will find him and I will punish him. Come let me drop you to your class now" she said with a smile and I took her hand and followed her.

Rest of the day was pretty fine I didn't see that arrogant boy again and I get to sit with Ash too. I told Ash what happened during the lunch. She got all angry saying "Tell me Myra who is that bad boy I will kick him hard" she gestured a boxing kick and I laughed looking at her. She's chubby and looked so funny, her face was as red as my hair.
