There was no answer but I did hear screams coming from inside. I bang on the door several times but there was no answer. Just as I was about to knock again the door opens.
"What do you want?" Alex scoffs
"I came here to apologize about last night" I say
"Okay anything else?"
"Is Valerie home? I'd like to apologize to her myself if you don't mind"
"She's not home right now"
"Her car's here"
"She's out with a friend"
"I can wait"
"I'm sorry. I'm busy with something right now. I'll give you a call when she's home. See ya" Alex says before shutting the door quickly
Something is off. I pull out my phone and called Ruzek.
"What's up man?" Ruzek answers
"Look up Valerie's location for me" I say
"It says she's at home" Ruzek says
"Give her a ring" I say
I listen closely through the door and within seconds I hear her phone ringing.
"Is everything okay?" Ruzek asks
"Get the team over here. I have a bad feeling" I say before hanging up
I go into my car and gear up. I put on my vest and equipment belt and waited for the team.
—15 minutes later—
"Jay, what's going on?" Voight asks as he gets out if his car
"Valerie could be in potential danger. I heard screaming earlier" I say
*screams being heard from inside*
"Everyone let's go. Atwater and Ruzek take the back" Voight says
We all go up to the front door and I knock it down with the battering ram.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" Alex calls out
"Where's Valerie" I ask
"I told you she's not here" Alex panics
"What was that screaming?" Erin asks while looking around
"UP HERE SERG!" Kim says from upstairs
I run up to where Kim was and I couldn't believe my eyes. There was Valerie handcuffed to the bed frame with a bruised eye and cut on her face. Her mouth was tied up. I go over and pull the scarf off her mouth.
"Please help me" she cried
"I got you don't worry" I say
"Would you look at the love birds" Alex says as he points the gun at Valerie

"You shoot me and I'll shoot her too" Alex chuckled
"DROP IT!" Voight says holding his against Alex's head
Alex drops his gun and raises his hands up.
"The key to the cuffs. Hand it over" Voight says
Alex takes the key out of his pocket and tosses it over to me. I unlock the cuffs and help Valerie out of them.
"Let's get out of here and get you to the hospital" I say helping her up
"I'm okay. I need to go get the kids" she says
"Erin will get them. Don't worry" I say
"You won't be able to get rid of me that easily" Alex chuckles
