Fanfiction.net - idhiencp- Julieta and Agustin, where they kiss infront of family under mistletoe and or Julieta is Agustins gift

To say Julieta was nervous was an understatement. This may not be her first christmas celebration with Agustin, they had been dating for three years now, since they were 18 and 19. She was just glad to have Pepa and Bruno on her side, offering her the emotional support she would need for tonight. After all, a Madrigal celebration usually involves inviting the whole of Encanto and then having their own private party afterwards.

She smoothed her beautiful and vibrant party dress as she searched the room for her beau. As she searched, she saw Pepa in her sunlight yellow dress with maroon stitching be twirled around the room by a short man. She smiled. Not only was Felix the son of the bankers in town and his family was on top of the social ladder but he was absolutely head over heels in love with Pepa. Two things Julieta was sure would please Mama when she saw them together. She sighed as she caught Bruno shaking his head at her, reminding her of what he told her only hours before. She'd find him when she wasn't looking. All she wanted to do was look for him, so that didn't feel very helpful now.

"Care to dance, senorita?" a suave voice spoke, and a hand was put in front of her face, blocking her eyes from their search.

"Um-" Julieta blinked at him. "No thank you, Andres." she shifted on her feet as she politely declined, but the hand did not drop, and she was met with an amused look. "Oh, don't give me that." he purred, and she tried not to flinch. She had agreed to one date when they were fifteen, just to appease her mother and his when he had expressed his interest in her. Since then, despite the fact that she was currently in a relationship, he didn't take the hint that she was simply not interested in him the way he was in her. She knew her mother had been disappointed when she expressed her disinterest in him. He came from a respectable and large family; it would have been a good match.

Just as she was going to deny him a second time his mother appeared at her elbow with a smile on her lips. "Oh, but Julieta dear, my Andres would simply love to dance with you! He's asked you like such a gentleman too!" she fawned, "You enjoy dancing, yet you've not danced even once tonight, it would be rude to refuse such a polite and gentlemanly offer, wouldn't it?" Julieta couldn't help but feel she was being guilted into acceptance, which she begrudgingly gave. She wouldn't want to disappoint her mother by being seen as rude, after all.

With a pit in her stomach, she let him lead her around the dance floor. Her moves felt stiff, and she kept her eyes averted, she didn't like the triumphant look he wore. In a fast move he dipped her down low, and she was forced to look at him, wide eyed in surprise. In that same moment she turned her head she felt like she was drowning, his lips pressed forcefully to hers, his hands gripping her so tight she almost yelped, if not for the fact she was frozen like a statue. He let her up with a cocky look she didn't miss, her eyes still wide. He looked so proud of himself for his public display, trying to force his claim on her.

The whole room was divided between scandalized silence of those who knew she was happily taken and cheers of celebration from those who didn't.

Julieta was not known for her anger, no that was Pepa, but right now all she felt was pure, unbridled anger. Her eye twitched as she tried to contain herself, but as he stood there laughing, acting like he had won her heart and not just violated her lips, the anger won out and flashed dangerously across her face. Before anyone had time to register the change in her expression, he was already on the ground with blood pouring from his now broken nose, the bruise already forming for a black eye. "How dare you!" she spat at him. Before she could hit him again, his mother and hers almost jumped between them and she was surprised to see the fury in her Mama's face was not directed at her for breaking the image of the 'golden child' Alma had trained her hard to keep so perfectly cultivated. "How dare you!" she cried the words this time, jabbing a finger in his direction before swaying on her feet, almost gasping for air as she wrapped her arms around herself.

The room was silent now and Julieta almost sobbed. She felt Bruno's hands on her shoulders and Pepa's on her arms as they hurried to her side. Lightning was flashing and smoke seemed to roll off Bruno, but perhaps that was Pepa's doing to make it more ominously dangerous when his eyes glowed green as he scowled down at the man.

The triplets left the room at a nod from Alma, knowing she would handle it. After this, the party was well and truly over. As they sat in the kitchen, she began to feel guilty and horrible. "I'm sorry." she stared at her hands in her lap, "I've ruined your night, haven't I?" her shoulders were slumped.

"No!" the two of them almost squealed at her, "This is not your fault!" and "That slimy scumbag-" filled her ears as they spoke at the same time, causing their words to blend into a gentle hum. Pepa and Bruno continued to offer comforting words to Julieta while also bashing Andres. It was several minutes later that they went silent. Looking up she was met with her mother's sad face. "I'm sorry that happened Julieta. Are you alright?" she asked. It was with hesitance that she nodded. "I'll be okay." she whispered, even though she wasn't sure if her skin would ever stop crawling. How could she look Agustin in the eye when another man had just laid hands on her? Had just pressed his lips on hers? Would he still want her even though she hadn't pushed him off in her disgusted frozen fear?

"I have sent them all away. The party is over." she announced to them, and it was the first time Julieta realized that the sounds of the crowd had stopped soon after Bruno and Pepa had ushered her out of there. "It is family only now." she promised, but the promise did little to soothe Julieta when all she wanted was Agustin's arms tight around her.

A familiar shuffle broke her out of her trance, and she whirled around on the stool she sat, her siblings letting go as she moved to see. Right in the arching doorway was Agustin, as dashing as ever in his suit. "Oh." She almost gasped before launching herself at his open, waiting arms. It wasn't until her face was pressed into his neck that she realized she was shaking and crying all over again.

"Shhh." he rubbed her back and held her tighter, "You're alright now Julieta. I've got you." His words were soft and whispered, just for her. When she finally leaned back in his arms he reached up with both hands and cupped her cheeks, using the pads of his thumbs to wipe the tears away.

"Oh! Mistletoe!" A booming and joyous voice exclaimed, and she realized her Mama had allowed Felix to stay as well. They glanced at him to see where he was pointing, only to follow his finger to above their heads. "Oh!" she breathed and shrank in on herself slightly, unsure he'd want to kiss her after Andres had just done so. "Oh!" he smiled and looked at her, "May I?" he asked just like a gentleman, and she nodded, a feeling of relief flooding her chest as he kept his hands on her cheeks and gently pressed his lips to hers in a soft, loving kiss.

It was a little early for gifts, and yet Julieta found now felt like the right time. She spared a glance to Pepa and Bruno, and even Mama, all of whom knew some of what her gift was. "I have a gift for you." she looked up through her lashes, biting her lip as she fished in the pocket of her skirt and pulled out a small box, offering it to him.

He had raised an eyebrow at her, they were supposed to exchange gifts far later. All of them were under the tree now, but this was one he hadn't seen placed there before, and he felt curious as to what small thing would be in the box. Indulging her he accepted the early gift and gently unwrapped it. He stared at the two items nestled inside. When he looked back up, he let out a small chuckle at Julieta's antics. She had taken a bow and put it on her head, like she was wearing a headband. "Julieta are you trying to tell me something?" he teased, and she seemed to gain confidence, recognizing his tone and relaxed posture.

"I'm your present, if you'll have me." she said innocently. "As your wife." Their little audience waited with bated breath to hear an answer.

"What are the chances?" he asked her and they shared a look of confusion. He gave her a soft look before pulling out a small box of his own from his pocket, kneeling down and offering it up to her. Now it was her turn to let out a surprised laugh. "Because I'm your present, if you'll have me as your husband." he echoed her words. Immediately cheers erupted, knowing this was an obvious answer. Laughing at themselves, the now engaged couple slid the rings onto their fingers and kissed each other with smiles on their lips.

"Merry Christmas mi Corazón."
