I wasn't nervous until I heard a soft knock on the door and I'm currently tiptoeing to the front door. Why am I tip-toeing? I have no idea! I take a deep breath, unlocking and opening the apartment door. "Hey," I smile, opening up the door wide enough to let her inside.

"Hey," she smiles back, immediately wrapping me up in a hug once the door is shut. Oh, okay. Hi.

Oh, wow. Yeah, her hugs are nice. I can confirm.

"Come to my room so we don't wake up Tatum," I tell her and she nods, following me to my room. My room is only dimly lit with twinkly lights hanging up and a candle lit on my nightstand beside the flowers she gave me. I close the door and turn to see her staring at the paintings I have leaned up along one of my walls.

"Holy shit, you never told me you could paint," she gasps.

"I just do it when I can't sleep," I shrug. "It's nothing."

"Umm, this is't nothing," she continues eyeing every detail of each painting and I sit on the edge of my bed. I hate compliments about my paintings, I don't know why but I've never felt that confident about them. "Have you ever thought about going into design or something that involves art?" She questions, turning around to face me.

"Um, I sorta moved to LA to pursue art but it didn't go as planned," I tell her, only now realizing that there's still a lot we don't know about each other.

"Wait, you're not from here?"

"No," I shake my head, "I'm from New York and got accepted into the art program at UCLA but I dropped out."

"Damn, don't you have to be hella smart to get accepted there?" She turns back around, continuing to look at the pieces. She's acting like they're the fucking sunset that you can't take your eyes off of because if you do you'll miss a new shade of purple pop up.

"Not really," I lean back, propping myself up on my hands.

"Hmm," she hums as if she's deep in thought and I can't help but smile at the way she's inspecting them. "Wait," she pauses, turning back to me in one quick motion.

"What?" I furrow my brows. She simply walks towards the paintings picking one of them up off of the floor and holding it up. No, not that one! This is why I glanced around my room earlier, I knew there was something I needed to hide.

"Did you paint my eye?" She smirks devilishly.

"No, I swear to god that's not your eye," I hop off my bed, taking it out of her hands and hiding it behind a different painting.

"If you say so," she says in a sing-song voice. I turn around and send her a dirty look as she sits on the edge of my bed. "I don't blame you, my eyes are beautiful."

"Cocky ass," I roll my eyes, sitting on my bed to lean myself up against the wall.

"So why'd you drop out?" She questions, moving to sit directly beside me, her thigh brushing up against mine.

Why so many questions?

"It was a lot of work and when I got hired at Amoeba I didn't have time for both so I decided to make money instead of spending money to pay for something that probably wouldn't take me anywhere in the end," I explain truthfully.

"What do you mean?" She looks towards me and I'm taken aback by how close in proximity her face is to mine.

"Well, you have to be extremely good at art to make any money for it and I didn't see that happening for me," I shrug, moving my face to look forward instead of directly into her eyes that seem to send a shiver down my spine?
