I mean, it's not really Lotor's fault he's the way he is. He's half-Galra (read: half-Zarkon), and his mother was freaking obsessed with quintessence, so you can see how much of a bad influence his parents were. 

And to be honest, IIiiii.... don't really trust Romelle. Did no one notice how dramatic her side of the story was? And Lotor didn't even get the chance to explain himself because he was too busy being yeeted by Allura (*rolls into fetal position as flashbacks commence*). I'd bet all my GAC Romelle is the real evil mastermind.....

Plus, she's annoying. *muttering* Won't leave Lance alone...
