Ken dribbled the ball as he did his best to dunk it, missing but trying again, jumping as he saw the ball swish into the net. He turned around, hearing the commotion behind him, thinking his friends were shouting for him, but when he turned around, he saw he wasn't the main attraction. He noticed it was his girl gathering all of the male gaze. Rushing his way over there, his eyes trained on her regardless of what kept them apart, he raced across the blacktop and jumped the fence, landing in front of her, halting her steps before he could listen to her protest he heard in the distance his friend exiting the park through the other entrance, punching her to the grass below holding her arms flat into the green,

"So what's the excuse today?" She has had her head swiveled since we hit the grass, pissing me off,

"Huh?! What the fuck is the excuse today?" Watching her as the soft skin smoothed under my fingertips, she didn't make a move to leave or release herself,

"Ugh, fucking answer me," I whispered as she kept her face turned. After one final swipe of her wrists, I backed away, resting on the heels of my feet; without looking, she pushed her long, slow dress back down over herself. I guess it flew up with all the movement. She sat up in the grass, holding the end of her dress down against her ankles, watching me watch her, chest slowly rising as her eyes stayed glued to my hands, glancing into my eyes every so often. By this point, this part of the park was empty, so it was just us staring at each other; I was, anyway. I followed her gaze back down to my hands, too, except I focused on my wrists. Shuffling off my bracelets, I pulled her closer, shoveling the thick jewelry onto her vacant wrist, covering the slightly puffy skin,

"Here, don't ever take these off."

Once they were fastened onto her, safe and secure, I watched in awe as she raced away from me, through the field, in and out of the park in such a dainty fashion that I could still picture her running as her dress bounced behind her.
