"So you've been dodging me?"

"No."

"Okay, so what have you been doing then?" I cornered her in the corner store, pressing her against the cold drinks freezer doors in the back of the store,

"And you haven't been wearing the bracelet, either," I shouted lowly in her face as I held her arm up, not seeing any indent mark on either wrist. This time, she wiggled under my touch, pushing against my chest,

"Here, take it back." I looked at her fingers as they pushed the fabric against my chest, holding her wrist tighter and grasping the one on my chest. Now she took hold of the bracelet, preventing it from hitting the ground,

"Did I ask for it back? Hmm? Was that my question? Or did I say why haven't you been wearing it?" She still hadn't looked my way, no matter how close we got. I need to see her face today, especially her eyes,

"Aye, lovebirds, out of my store with that. Buy or leave!" I grabbed a stronger hold on her and pulled her from the freezer door, out the store door, and down the street. Once we hit the corner, she ran in the opposite direction. I didn't try to go after her; instead, I just smiled because she still had my bracelet. And she better start wearing it, too.
