The car was quiet and the only thing on deeks mind was kensi, he couldn't focus on the road, only her. He tried to keep his eyes on the road but caught him self glancing at her for seconds at a time allowing the car to drift to the side of the road before realizing and pulling the steering wheel sharply and jerking them both making kensi jump. He realized what he was doing and tried even harder to keep his eyes on the road but his mind just kept wandering to kensi. Deeks breathed in deeply and pulled over to the side of the road kensi looked around slowly but didn't say anything "kensi" Deeks said his voice making her jump slightly "you did great all day what happened when I left you alone" he turned off the engine and turned to her "I uh I don't know i just felt um I felt alone" kensi admitted with tears that had been in her eyes all night finally falling "come on kens" Deeks unlocked the doors and stepped out hurrying to the other side to let kensi out he opened the door but she hadn't even undone her seat belt "what" she asked looked scared and confused all at the same time "come on take a walk with me" he grabbed her hand and helped her out of the car with out letting go of her hand he led them across the street to an empty beach and straight down to the water. In silence they walked with the waves brushing against their feet as they crept up the sand. It was a cool night and deeks noticed kensi had goose bumps on her arms he pulled her in his arms to keep her warm and continued to walk "your not alone kens, you will never be alone" he said softly into her hair so even though she was the only one around him only she would hear "I will never leave you kensi blye" he said louder and turned his head to the roaring waves "I'll never leave you because I love you" he said quiet again but loud enough so she could hear even though his words were muffled buy the waves she stopped in her tracks and turned to him "why are you so good to me" she smiled her first genuine smile since she had returned home making deeks face light up "because I'm lucky to have you in my life, and I'd never take that for granted" he pulled her into his chest and kissed the top of her head she felt safe for the first time in so long it made her body weak and deeks could tell "let's get you home princess" she pulled away at the nickname and began to walk away not getting very far before turning around to allow deeks to catch up. Deeks knew that his kensi would be back before he knew it
