Deeks knew kensi wasn't ok but he didn't really know how bad it was until he saw her break down in public, after their trip to the beach he decided it would be best for them to head home.
They arrived at kensi's place, kensi sat on her couch and stared at deeks "what kens your scaring me" he kind of laughed she was silent and looked away from him "kensi" he sat down next to her she turned her head to him surprised to hear her real first name deeks almost always called her kens "I don't want you to feel like you have to pretend like it doesn't hurt or pretend like your ok, I'm here for you" he looked at her waiting for a response "I-i know Deeks I just- I" her words started to break as tears began to form in her eyes and deeks pulled her close "it will get better kens, I promise you'll be ok, things like this just take time" he held her never wanting to let her go, they fell asleep like that
It was midnight and deeks was awaken buy kensi's thrashing around on the couch "kens" he shook her "kensi" he almost yelled and she finally woke up. She looked up at him terrified tears in her eyes "It's ok calm down" he motioned for her to come to him "i-i don't want to be like this deeks I don't want to cry I don't want to have nightmares I just want to go back to work, go back to normal" her whole body was racking with sobs now and he scooted closer to her "kensi I hate seeing you this way i never want to see you this hurt, but you are and I'm here to help I promise I'm not leaving until your ok again, which you will be" he smiled at her and pushed her hair out of her face "go back to bed kens we'll talk in the morning"
