Buster Moon Takes The Stage!: A Sing 2 Story

Chapter 5: The Big Moment! (There's Nothin' Holding Me Back)

Buster took a deep breath. This was it. It was almost time for his big moment. He watched from backstage as Clay and Ash sang "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". Even when Ash smiled and waved to him once she was finished, tears streamed through Buster's eyes as he looked like he was about to cry. Just then, the big twist in the play had came: the twist that Buster had dreamt of. It was time.

"Mission accomplished!" Captain Rosita said, her crew headed back to Earth, "We're headed home." Just then, Gunter the robot noticed something: "Alert! Alert! Captain, there is one more planet we must travel to before we take off for home!" "Well, what is it?" Ash said, worried. "It's a planet of...hope. And it looks like someone there needs our help!" Rosita looked at the planet through a hologram on her ship, "Alright, everyone. Guess we have one more stop to make. Let's go!"

Okay, now it was time! Buster put the finishing touches on his outfit as he hurriedly ran right up on the platform representing his planet, as it rose up on stage.

Captain Rosita and Gunter the robot zoomed off in their ship, with Clay, Ash, Meena, Alfonso, Johnny, Nooshy, Klaus, and Porsha in tow. Finally (after bumping into more than a few asteroids), the ship landed on The Planet Of Hope. Rosita, Ash, Clay, and Gunter all got off and wandered around.

"Mission Control, this is Captain Rosita. I have landed on the Planet Of Hope. I think someone's out there, so I'm about to make contact." Rosita said into a walkie talkie as she saw someone: a small koala, curled up into a ball, "You need a hand?" The koala nodded as he took Rosita's hand and got up. "My name is Buster. Buster Moonstone, ma'am." He introduced himself, "And this is the Planet Of Hope! Or at least it...used to be." Rosita gasped, "Well, what happened?" "Ever since I got here, I kept feeling alone." Buster said, recounting his story, "Over time, I had hoped and hoped that a brave space explorer like you would come to this planet and save me, but no one ever did."

"You see those stars up there?" He pointed up to the shimmering stars in the sky, "I've been hoping that one day, once I got off this planet, that I would have something no one else could have." "What?" Clay asked, "A dream of being in the sky?" "No," Buster replied, "Friends, just like those stars."

Smoke, ashes, and dust filled the air as Buster began to sing.

And maybe I should stop and start confessing

Everyone felt sad for Buster. He'd been waiting for someone to come to his planet for years, and through time he felt abandoned. As he cried his tears out, Rosita comforted him. "It's okay, Buster. There's no need to be afraid. You've got friends right here." "Really?" He asked, "Who?" "Us! We're your friends!" Ash replied, hugging him. "Even once we go back to Earth," Gunter explained, "we'll all still be together." "Well, what are waiting for?" Buster shouted, his spirits lifted, "Let's all head back home, and dream big dreams!"

"Everyone ready?" Captain Rosita said, her ship returning to Earth. Everybody nodded as she sent one last message to Mission Control: "Mission Control, this is Captain Rosita. My mission is fully complete! We are all now headed back home."
