This time I nearly choked on my food.
Chris chuckled, "I should ask Kayin if she likes that too."
"Let's not forget about a certain thing that wasn't aloud to be done for two months after they were born," I mentioned tackling my food.
"I remember. But remember how our honeymoon was," he smiled.
"Mhmm, we'll have this discussion later."
"Later when. How about going out for lunch?"
"I have a lot of work to do. I can't leave for lunch."
"Well... okay when we get home," he sounded a little disappointed.
"Okay, but can you pick up the kids because I might be a little late coming home."
"Okay, that's fine. I can do that," he said gathering the empty dishes. And putting them in to the dish washer.
"Come on you guys, grab you book bags and give dad a hug and a kiss."
After they had done so Chris had came to me and wrapped one arm around my waist used the other had to tip my chin.
He kissed me like this would be the last time we'd see each other. That's how he kissed me every morning and I loved it. Pulling him a little closer so that our bodies made contact a low growl escaped his lips.
"I love you," I said breaking the kiss.
"I love you more, you tease," he smirked to which I returned.
I went to turn around to leave he pressed his self up against me and brushed his lips up my neck, settling at my ear. I shivered.
Then he whispered, "now we're even."
"For now," I smirked with my back to him, walking away.
"Mommy! Can we go to Sesame Place this weekend?" Kimora asked me while I drove.
"We'll see, I have to see what daddy thinks about it," I responded peeking at her hopeful face through the rear view mirror.
I smiled at her sweet face while CJ was playing his DSi.
"Daddy's gonna say yes to me because he don't know how to say no to me," she shrugged as if it wasn't an issue.
My smile turned in to rolling my eyes on how true that statement was.
"Well daddy still has work and so does mommy. We will have to work something out. Okay sweetie?"
"Okay mommy," she beamed.
I pulled inside of Kimmy & CJ's daycare center parking lot. After parking I got out of the truck and went around to the back to unbuckle them out of their booster seats. They both hopped out of truck and grabbed my hands. We walked in and I signed them in, telling Mrs. Cartwright that Chris was going to be picking them up today and then I kissed my kids on the forehead then left out to make my way to Showcase to see how it was doing.
Showcase had been doing good all on it's own. It had become a chain salon with two others in New Jersey, two in New York, and one in Philly. My clientele had been wonderful. There was regular people all the way to A-list celebrities coming in for services.
I also did a nonprofitable organization for teens. But they are both separate one for females and the other for males. Once a month both groups meet up and discuss they various topics. I personally run my females program and Chris runs the males. I love him for the man he's molded himself in to and what also for what he's teaching these young men.
"Wassup Kim?" Desirae, the manager of this shop, asked as I sat in one of the chairs.
"Nothing, just checking up on things." I responded.
"You're late, Malayka already came through about an hour ago."
"Damn she really got my businesses under wraps."
"That's because she got that kind of time on her hands."
"Yeah, you're right."
"So are you going to have anymore kids any time soon?" she asked with a sly grind on her face.
"Why is that on the top of everybody's mind this morning?"
"Depends, who else asked you?"
"Chris. And the kids loved the sound of it."
"Well you are twenty-seven."
"And Malayka is about to turn twenty-eight. Kira is twenty-seven also. Why don't yall bother them."
"You're married."
"They both got a man. Kira's ass is engaged."
"But you already have kids."
"Okay. Two of them and a step-daughter. Who are all, might I add, all four years old and is more than a handful."
"They would be great helpers."
I cut my eyes at her.
"What? I'm just saying. What you gone do, cut Chris off from sex? Because if he wants another baby, it'll happen sooner or later."
She wasn't lying. Chris usually always got what he wanted, I couldn't resist his aura. So instead of protesting I just rolled my eyes at her.
"Well since everything is running fine here, I guess I'll take my behind to my building upstate."
"You ever thought about moving to New York to be closer to your building since that's where you are most of the time."
"It had cross my mind a few times but never really stayed there permanantly. See, for the simple fact that I want to open more businesses on the West Coast, it wouldn't be wise to have a baby right now," I responded, winking as I walked out, "Bye everybody!"
"Bye Kim!" everyone shouted back.
I hoped in my car Navigator and made my way back home to change cars. When I got there I noticed Chris' car still in the driveway. I decided not to go in though, I just grabbed my spare seat of car keys from my pocketbook and got in to my New Continential GT V8 Convertible, Chris had it custom made for me for out recent anniversary so it was very new. It was a turquoise color. This was my baby. The kids don't get to sit in this one. I gave Tia my old car which was still in great shape, and Chris gave Marcus his.
Tia was now nineteen years old and out here doing her thing. She was going to Rider University for Mass Communications. Marcus is seventeen, a senior in high school, a football star.
Everybody says that Chris and I are major role models for a lot of people. Especially because where we are from.
Anyway, I made my hour and twenty minute ride to NY. New York is where my main business is and where I manage all of my business from.
When I got upstairs my assistant, Cierra, handed me a sticky note of names & numbers I needed to call back about various projects.
I had been so consumed in my work that when Cierra called and told me that I had a visitor about business I almost ready to turn the visit down because I had so much work to be done. But I eventually told Cierra to send them back.
What I was not prepared for was who walked through my door after a brief knock. Standing there in the flesh was Rashad.
We just stared at each, I was having a wtf moment.
I haven't talked to him since he offered me that deal over four years ago. But I did take him up on it. I wonder what he wanted with after all these years.
