The group chatted some more about how things were going in there lives outside of school. Masahiko won a spelling-bee award over the weekend. Because he got in first place, he won a free trip to Hawaii for three, but because of his allergic reaction to sand, he turned it down and gave it to the runner-up. He even mentioned that one of the contestants cheated, and was eliminated. The others congratulated him, proud of his intelligence and generosity.

The Jung Twins both got there first jobs, so they now work as waitresses at a Starbucks in town. Ha Eun was excited because she got to work the Frappuccino machines, which she always wanted to do when she would walk in as a customer every day. She always ordered a Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino with extra chocolate sauce and gobs of whipped cream.  And Ha Rin was just happy to be there and help her younger sister and make some money. They always do things together, and you almost never see them apart. They both worked Mondays through Fridays at the night shift, so it was after school hours. And because they have dorms at the school, they have things called Out-of-School Night Passes, so they can leave for work, then come back to the school.

As for Joo-Won, nothing much happened with him in the past week. Maybe even the past few months. And that's how he liked it. To not be noticed. Not to be the center of attention. He would rather live his life away from everyone than have to communicate with people he doesn't care about. Minus his friends and family of course. But he was always nice to strangers and the elderly when he went grocery shopping for his parents, or bumping into someone by mistake in the streets. To say his life was completely boring was a lie. He occasionally went out with his friends to go shopping or to cafes. He even ran from a security guard once or twice after getting dared to spray a security guard with a water gun filled with a gross watery substance made from wheat- grass, milk, and sauerkraut juice. The guard almost caught him, but he just got finished eating six doughnuts and downing two cups of coffee, so it slowed him down. But hey, Joo-Won got fifty dollars for completing the dare, so there was an upside, other than it being fucking hilarious.

After a few more minutes of chatting, the bell finally rang, signaling to get to first period. As they were throwing out there trash and putting there trays in a tray rack, Ha Rin spoke up.

"Umm, me and Ha Eun are going shopping at the mall after school. We lied to the principal that we got called in for work and he believed it, the sorry bastard. We have two extra passes." She started as she grabbed her bag. "Would you two maybe wanna... tag along?" She asked with hopeful eyes. Ha Eun nodded, excitedly. "Oh, yes! Please come with! There is this new boba tea stand that I'm just dying to try!" Masahiko threw his arm around Joo-Won.

"We would love to come!" He answered, showing his signature smile, lighting up the room. The Jung Twins squealed in delight. "Perfect! Meet us at the front school doors at the end of the day at 4:30. Don't forget your passes!" Ha Eun said happily. She reached in her bag and handed the boys there night passes. Then she grabbed her bag and waved to the boys and blew kisses, rushing after her sister to get to there class. She was always being silly with them.

It was rather strange, though. You see, Masahiko was considered a 'nerd' and a 'geek', and Joo-Won was considered, well, 'awkward'. So why would such pretty girls talk to them? Let alone Ha Rin having a crush on Masahiko. They have all know each other since grade school, and the two boys stood up to some bullies who were picking on the girls and pulling there pigtails. Ever since then, the four have been well acquainted. Almost every Saturday, the four go to a sweets cafe down the street, across from the school to hang out and study. And they also go shopping with the girls often, even if they don't usually purchase anything. But they don't have any classes together except breakfast and recess, so hanging out was rare, but they made it work, and they made it fun.
