5. Circumstances

'3 years later from current time__

" Yaar Faizi jaldi chala na...", Karan yelled at Faizi who was driving the jeep.

Karan, Faizi and Sanjana were on a dangerous mission. Faizi was driving, Karan was seating beside him and Sanjana at the back. They were returning back to Deolali.

" Karan jab se hum mission se nikle hai tab se tu itna baichain kyu hai? Aaj tak humne tumhe itna pareshan nahi dekha...", Faizi asked.

" Faizi mujhe na kuch ajeeb sa lag raha hai... Isiliye Monami ko call kiya tha lekin Rani Sahiba call hi nahi udha rahi thi... Isiliye bhabhi ko call kiya lekin Bhabhi ka phone bhi switched off aa raha hai... Mujhe bohot tension ho raha hai.. ", Karan said.

Faizi and Sanjana looked at him worried.

" Karan sir ji aap tension na lo. Hum Siddharth ko phone karte hai...", Sanjana said. Sanjana pulled out her mobile as Karan nodded worriedly.

Sanjana dialled Sid's number. After talking to him she turned to Karan happily.

Faizi stopped the jeep infront of a Hospital. Karan get down from the jeep and entered the hospital. Faizi and Sanjana followed him.

"Excuse me, yaha Mrs. Monami Shergill?", Karan asked the receptionist.

"Room no. 12, second floor...", The receptionist replied.

Karan walked towards the lift. A stroke of happiness on his face. He had a nervous smile on his face. Faizi and Sanjana too walked into the lift.

As soon as they walked on the second floor they saw Sid and Monami's father talking with each other. Sid's gaze fell on Karan who walked towards them.

Sid ran and gave a tight brotherly hug to Karan. Karan too hugged him. He squealed on happiness. Faizi and Sanjana smiled looking at them. How much their bond had changed!

"Congratulations bro... You have became a father now...", Sid said breaking the hug.

"Thank you!", Karan replied.

Karan saw Monami's father standing with a smile on his face. He walked towards him and bent down to take blessings and he blessed him.

"Congratulations beta! Aaj Monami tumhare saath jinti khush hai shayad kabhi nahi thi... Tumhari vajah se aaj usse uski zindagi ki Sabse badi khushi mili hai...", Monami's father said.

"Aapko bhi congratulations. Aapka bhi toh promotion ho gaya... Vaise Monami ki vajah se aaj mujhe bhi itni badi khushi mili hai ..", Karan smiled.

"Ja jakar Mil lo...", Mr. Mahajan patted his head and Karan nodded.

Karan took a deep breath and pushed the door open. He saw Monami sleeping peacefully on the bed and his bhabhi caressing her hair sitting beside him.

Bhabhi noticed him and got up from her seat and approached him.

"Congratulations Karan...", Bhabhi said and he smiled at her. Bhabhi soon left the ward.

Karan was looking at Monami's face after 2 long months. It's been difficult for him to stay away from her for such a long time. It wasn't too difficult to choose him between Nation and his pregnant wife two months back but Monami was his greatest supporter.

His gaze fell on the cradle beside her bed. His eyes filled with tears as soon as he saw their baby in the cradle sleeping peacefully. He placed a soft kiss on baby's head. He didn't took their baby in his hands as it wasn't hygienic.

He sat beside Monami. She was looking exchaused but their was a sort of happiness on her face too. He took her hand in his and kissed her forehead.

"Thank you Monami, mujhe aapni zindagi ki Sabse badi khushi dene ke liye. Lekin mein tumhe kaise sorry bolu? Tumhe jab meri sabse jyada jarurat thi, tab hi main mission par chala gaya. Aaise circumstances the ki...", Karan said emotionally.

Unknown to Karan, Monami had heard Karan's words felt bad as He was feeling guilty for not being with her during their child's birth.

"Tumhe sorry feel karne ki jarurat nahi hai Karan...", Monami said opening her eyes.

Karan seeing Monami awake immediately wiped his tears.

"Mere bacche ke papa ban gaye fir bhi mujhse aapne tears, aapne dukh chupate hai tum... Aur fir kehte ho ki pyaar karte ho ..", Monami said being disappointed.

"Aaisi baat nahi hai voh toh sirf..."

"Karan, maine do mahine pehle bhi kaha tha aur abhi bhi keh rahi hun... Tum ek commando ho aur tumhare liye beshak sabse pehle desh hi hona chahiye... Aur jaha tak meri baat hai mujhe sambhalne ke liye yaha kitne log hai... Pata hai tumhe Sid toh iss mamle mein tumse bhi strict hai", Monami said and chuckled tightly. She cupped her face and placed a kiss on his cheek. "Major Karan Shergill, age zindagi mein aaise dorahe bohot ati hai... Lekin unn saare Circumstances mein main tumhare saath hun...", Monami said caressing her cheek.

Karan felt blessed to have such a wonderful and understanding life partner. He immediately hugged her.

"Thank you Monami. Ek wonderful wife banne ke liye aur mujhe aapni zindagi ka sabse bada gift dene ke liye...", Karan said and turned towards the cradle.

"Thanks to you too... Meri life ka best gift mujhe dene ke liye...", Monami said smiling and interwoven their hands.

They had an eye lock.

"Aab janab ka romance ho gaya ho toh hum bhi new parents ko congratulations kare...", They both heard Faizi's voice from behind.

They turned towards them. Faizi, Sanjana, Sid, Mr. Mahajan, Karan's bhabhi, Koel, Bala and Chitra were present with gifts and balloons.

Monami blushed and dug her face in Karan's embrace.
