Memories

Bidden and Unbidden,
Expected and Unexpected,
They creep up on you,
They hide from you,

When your lying awake in bed,
Unable to sink into dreams,
The mind begins to wander,
Into the maze created by these,

Some you look upon in favor,
Some you look upon in fear,
Some you look upon in mortification,
Some you look upon in merriment,

So many of them you struggle to find the end,
Turning down to the left,
Turning up to the right,
Getting so caught up in them,

Both blessings and curses,
These are but the past,
Both new and old,
These moments have all but passed.
