Chapter 1{Old book}

ALEX'S FLASHBACK OF A SMALL CHILD

"Hi daddy." I smile into the phone.

"Hi babygirl. How was your day?"

"It was good. Daddy?"

"Yea baby?"

"Where are you? I miss you." I start to feel tears.

"I miss you too. Give to phone to mommy okay?" I whisper a real quick okay and give the phone to mommy. Mommy takes it and talks.

"David-" I try to listen but i don't understand much. "But David you cant keep doing this-- You're hurting her!"

I soon got scared of my moms new tone of voice and climb back into my bed. Mommy comes walking in with the phone again and I use the new name I heard.

"Hi David. Hehe."

"Haha hey baby. i'm going to bed goodnight. I love you."

"Goodnight. Bye daddy. Love you too." After 10 minutes i finally fell asleep. I forgot about everything from that night and thought everything would be different. But boy was i wrong. The next day i woke up and got dressed really fast.

"MAMA WE GONNA GO SEE DADDY!" I run to find my mom but shes no where to be seen. I go to look for grandma and there grandma is sitting in bed. I go to the other side of her bed and lay down.

"Where is mommy?"

"She went to the store. She will be right back. I promise." She promised and her promise was kept. She came and we went to go see daddy. I wait for daddy to go outside so he can bring me into his house. He finally comes out and opens my door.

"Hey baby. Are you ready to come? Thanks Rose." Rose was my mothers name.

"No problem this time. But you owe me gas money." I quickly give mommy a wave goodbye and she drives off. I walk into daddy's house. Its small. But a good small. The walls are all white and don't have much pictures hanging on it. I meet his girlfriend and she doesn't smile. Like ever. Shes not much of a smiley person. Shes kind of scary. I walk into a small room that has a tv in it.

"Soon I'm going to get a bed. And this will be your very own room. Then you can sleep over." Daddy smiles at me and I smile back. I'm going to get my own room! Yay! I start to play with some Lego's. Then all of a sudden the front door opens. I look and realize who it is.

"Nana!" I run to her and give her a big hug. She hugs me back and I dont want to let go. I havent seen her in a while. I missed her. I finnally let go and we go to the park. I go on the swings first. I keep yelling 'Daddy higher!' until he actually does it. We spend all day together at the park. Then we finally go back to his house and mommy is there waiting. I get into the car and daddy buckles me in. We say goodbye and mommy drives off with me. Then I watch the back of the car to watch daddy as we drive away. It was a happy day. I hope most days will be like this from now on.
