"I'm telling you, the white dress suits milady best!"

"No! It's the dark blue one!"

"I want her to wear the pink one!"

"Milady, choose!" They all said at once. In response, I just sighed. I was thirteen years old, and right now, I was preparing for my debut into society. I had to wake up early, go through a horrendous and torturous 'spa' treatment, and right now, I was choosing what to wear to the ball. Just choose anything, I don't give a damn. That is what kept repeating in my head.

I hated waking up early. I loathed it. Anyone who wakes me up early is going to pay. Once, I was woken up at 5:20 a.m. because seven year old Little Al wanted to play. But I didn't. '"Sister, wake up, wake up! I wanna play!'" He had said. But no. He didn't know what happened when someone woke me up early. Because he was new to the house.

Everyone - and I mean everyone - in this mansion knew, never wake the sleeping Alice. It was an unspoken rule, nay, law, that no one woke me up early. No one did.

So, when Little Al woke me up early, just for the sake of his entertainment, I just... snapped.

'"Young man... Do you know what it means to wake me up early?"' I had said. My tone was creepy and my voice hoarse. I raised my arm up high, and prepared to cast an incantation. '"If you want to play, play with my new friend, Shadow, here!"' I had clumped a ball of my darkness and shaped it into a human. When Little Al touched it, he felt chills and immediately shivered in fright.

I was sure, at that moment, Little Al thought that I was a demon from Hell. And I was. Because no one, no one, should ever wake me up.

'"Hahaha! Shadow, Little Al, why don't you guys play a little game of tag?"' I could see shadow grow arms and leap in front of my dear brother. Alden started running, screaming that I wanted to kill him and that I was a demon. But really, I didn't feel any remorse for throwing a scary looking creature at him. I didn't feel remorse for him waking up the whole house at 5:20 a.m. because of me either.

Because no one wakes me up early.

So, when I had to wake up at 7:30 a.m. because I had to prepare for a stupid debut into society, well, let's just say some things happened. Yet I still ended up in this mess.

"Milady, choose now!" Maria whined. I just sighed and pointed to the blue dress. To be perfectly honest, the white one was sure to make me look like a fucking saintess (which I wasn't even close to being) and the pink one had too many frills. It was gaudy and the modern-at-heart me just couldn't take a look at it. Hence, the blue one.

I could see the maids starting to grab the dress. Uh, it looks heavy just from looking at it. "Now, milady, we will tighten the corset." I could see the maids sneaking up on me with their arms raised.

"W-wait. On second thought..."

----

"Uhhh... Imma fuckin' die..." I felt like collapsing. I was starved for the whole day. My lungs were so restricted I felt as if I could barely breathe. I couldn't even go into my space and play because Mother was watching me like a hawk with that scary smile of hers.

"Well, at least it's over." I reassured myself. I heard someone knock on my bedroom door. "Who is it?" I questioned. I was too tired to go and check myself.

"Big Sister, it's Alden." A childish voice came through.

I flopped on the bed, unwilling to get up. "Just let yourself in, Little Al."
