That was the moment I realized just how badly I had fucked up. Jake's face completely changed as he stood there in front of me frozen.

Just as I was running after him, I heard Lilli crying.

I can't believe I just said that with her in the same room as us. She was asleep and must have woken up when she heard us getting louder. Who knows how long she's been awake and what she heard. Omg I just said that Hannah killed someone in front of my daughter! WHAT HAVE I DONE??

"Mommy...is dad mad at you?" She cried.

"No honey he's not. I'm so sorry we woke you up."

"But he just left! Is he going to leave too? I really won't have a dad now" she continued crying.

"Dad and I just had a small argument, it's normal honey. All parents argue sometimes and dad will be back before you know it. He is not leaving, I promise you. How about you sleep with me and when you wake up daddy will be right here?"

She snuggles up against me as I put my arm around her as I sang her a song to go back to sleep. While I was putting her to sleep the only thing I could think about was Jake and what he was up to. I couldn't even go after him and try to stop him. I was terrified of what he was going to do. I quickly grabbed my phone and dialed Lilly in hopes that she wasn't asleep and would pick up the phone. Thankfully after a couple of rings she picked up.

"Hello? Is everything okay?" She asked.

"Hi Lilly. Look I wish I had time to explain right now but I really don't. I just need you to get Hannah in the car and go somewhere. Anywhere!!! You just can't be home."
