The Story Of Us

We were once strangers
Nothing more, nothing less
But then you said hi
It was surely the best

I didn't know what it was
I just couldn't explain
You made me think of you
You drove me insane

We both inched closer
It was more than just a friend
We were so happy together
But, it wasn't the end

You then said you loved me
And I felt just the same,
I thought we were perfect
But suddenly, she came

I thought I was crazy
Thinking you liked her more
To them you were just friends
But to me? It was torture

You didn't even notice
The tears that filled my eyes
You were so selfish
Your mouth was full of lies

The day finally came
I decided to let you go
Is there still a chance?
I think the answer is no

You made me laugh and cry
You made tears roll down my eye
But now, it is time
To finally say good bye
