Two weeks later...

It's still Summer Break. You're finally discharged from the hospital. The pain was gone. It was easier to laugh and talk again. The nurses said you could take your bandages off. But you wanted to keep the scars covered. After your mum approved of Shoto as your boyfriend, he came to hang out in your room sometimes.

Knock Knock Knock

Y/N: "I got it, mum."

You open the front door.

Shoto: "Hey."

Y/N: "Hey, you. Come on in."

You take his hand and bring him inside.

Mum: "Is that your other half?"

Shoto: "Hello, Ms L/N!"

Mum: "Nice to see you again, dear."

You take Shoto up to your room. He goes in and sits on your bed. When you shut the door and turn to face him. He's frowning at you.

Shoto: "When are you going to take those off?"

You look away from him and shook your head. He stands up, walks over to your desk and picks up a pair of scissors. He then walks back over to you and places them in your hand.

Shoto: "Show me..."

You look down at the ground.

Y/N: "Shoto, I can't-"

He gently lifts up your chin to look you in your eyes.

Shoto: "Please..."

You give in. He walks you over to your full body mirror and stands behind you, with his hands on your shoulders. You take the scissors and start slowly cutting away the bandages. The whole time, Shoto is looking at you in the mirror, not taking his eyes off you. You do your arms first. You were more scared of the one on your neck. When you finish your arms, he didn't say anything. You guessed he was waiting for you to finish. You cut through the bandages on your neck even slower. You hated the way they look. The one on your neck looks like Dabi's hand. As if it were branded on. You try to cover it with your hands.

Shoto: "Come on... give me those."

Shoto takes your hands in his and wraps his arms around you. You start to cry.

Y/N: "I hate it..."

Shoto thought for a minute before turning you to face him, still holding your hands.

Shoto: "I never told you how I got my scar."

Y/N: "I-i didn't want to pry into such a sensitive subject."

Shoto: "You pried into my relationship with my father..."

Y/N: "Uhm- I..."

He gave you a little smile.

Shoto: "I'm kidding."

He gently wiped your face.

Shoto: "Anyway, I think it's time to tell you about my scar. Seeing as you're so uncomfortable with yours. When I was a small child, my father used to train me so hard everyday until I threw up."

Y/N: "That's why you used to be so bitter towards training...?"

Shoto: "... Yes... my mother saw what he was doing to me. One day, I heard her muttering to herself in the kitchen, next to the kettle. When I went to see what was wrong... she took the kettle and...... poured boiling water on my face..."

You gasped.

Y/N: "Why... would she do that?"

Shoto: "Later she told me it was because she hated my left side. And that day... she snapped..."

Y/N: "...Shoto..."

You cup his cheek with your hand.

Y/N: "Heh... it's hard to picture you without your scar. You've had it for much longer than I've know you. But me... you've all seen me before and after... it's going to be hard for everyone to get used to..."

Shoto: "I see... then let me ask you this, has your smile changed? Or your laugh? How about your cheerful and caring personality? Have any of those changed?"

Y/N: "Well- uhm... no."

Shoto: "Then I look at the Y/N from three weeks ago and the Y/N standing in front of me now, and I see no difference."

Tears slip down your face, but this time, you're smiling. He brushed your hair out of your face and kissed you. He smiled and picked you up bridle style.

Shoto: "I love your smile, but now I want to hear your laugh."

After a few spins, you start giggling.

Shoto: "Good. It hasn't changed."

He sits on the bed while still holding you.

Y/N: "Can I put my bandages back on now?"

Shoto: "Nope. I'm not letting you cover those up again. Those aren't just scars. They're battle scars. Trophies of courage. I didn't have to be there to know how brave and courageous you were."

You smile and rest your head on his shoulder.

Y/N: "Alright... you win."

You hadn't planned for him to stay longer than a few hours, but you both accidently fell asleep cuddling on your bed while watching a movie. The next morning, you wake up in his arms. He was already awake, admiring you.

Shoto: "Good morning, Y/N."

Your face goes pink, but you don't let go.

Y/N: "Good morning... what day is it?"

Shoto: "The next day."

Y/N: "Is it a little chilly in here or is it just me?"

You touch your neck and gasp.

Y/N: "Where- oh..."

Shoto smiles and hugs you closer, gently running his fingers through your hair. You hear a soft knock on your bedroom door. Your mum sticks her head in.

Mum: "Are you two awake yet? Oh, good morning sleepy heads."

Y/N: "Hey, mum."

Shoto: "Good morning, Ms L/N."

Mum: "I came in last night to call you for dinner, but you fell asleep. Come down for breakfast when you're ready."

Y/N: "Thanks, mum. We'll be down in a minute."

She smiles and shuts your door. You both look at each other.

Shoto: "Are you hungry?"

You put your face into his chest.

Y/N: "Not really. I wanna stay here. You're so warm."

Your stomach growls loudly. Your face goes red.

Shoto: "Are you sure you're not hungry?"

Y/N: "Aheh, I guess not... let's go."

You both get up and walk down to breakfast, his arm around you.
