CHAPTER ONE

Colin's POV

"Good morning sir." I greet as Mr Conti walks past my desk and towards his brothers office. He turns around at the sound of my voice  and smiles at me.

"Good morning Colin, how are you ?" He asks me with that accent of his.

"I'm well and you sir?" I ask him.

"I'm good. Pietro busy ?" He asks even though he was just going to barge in like always. I shake my head nevertheless to let him know mr Pietro isn't busy and he nods before he enters mr Pietro's office.

Mr Gianni Conti is my bosses boss as well as his little brother. I never understood why Mr Gianni took over the firm and not Mr Pietro. Don't get me wrong, Mr Gianni is great at what he does. The firms is doing so well and has improved so much according to the older staff, but it always confuses me as to why Mr Pietro didn't take over.

My intercom buzzes and I jump up startling out of my inner thoughts as I get up and head to Mr Pietro's office and open the door. When I walk in they both stop their conversation and I quickly walk towards them.

"How can I help you sir?" I ask and Mr Pietro sighs while looking at his brother.

"I have to leave for Italy tonight so please cancel all my meetings for the next month, for now, since I don't know how long I'm going to have to stay there." He says and I nod.

"Anything else sir?" I question.

"Yes, while I'm away you're going to be working for Gianni, if you're okay with that, that is?" He asks and I nod.

"That's okay sir." I say and he nods.

"Please don't cause him any trouble." Mr Pietro says, closing his eyes and rubbing his forehead, and I nod.

"I promise I won't sir." I say.

"I was talking to Gianni, Colin." Mr Pietro says while looking at Mr Gianni who pouts childishly.

"I would never cause him any trouble brother." He huffs and Mr Pietro just raises an unamused eyebrow at him.

"Please behave while I'm gone Gianni." Mr Pietro says as he stands up and Mr Gianni follows suit.

"I promise."

"Well I better get going. I need to pack and get things sorted out before I leave tonight." Mr Pietro says as he picks up his brief case and starts to walk towards the door with Mr Gianni and myself following behind him. We exit his office and he locks it.

"Good bye sir."

"Good bye Colin." He says before looking at his brother.

"I'll see you brother." Mr Gianni waves and mr Pietro leaves.

Now it's just Mr Gianni and myself and I walk back to my desk.

"Is there anything you would like me to start with today sir?" I ask him and he turns around with that ever present smile of his.

"No Colin, I have no work for you at the moment so you can continue with what you were doing." He tells me and I nod, waiting for him to leave before I can sit down. He walks away from my desk and I sigh as I flop down on my seat before I look at the calendar on my desk.

Time to start cancelling meetings for the next month. How fun, note my sarcasm.

Three hours and forty five minutes later and I've only cancelled half of mr Pietro's appointments and meetings. I sit back in my seat and sigh as I crack my neck. I check the time on my cellphone and see it's already 3pm. I missed lunch. That's a first. I stand up and look around and see no one out on the floor.
