Chapter Twenty Seven: Honesty Can Kill

Listen to this moved every Han in the room. Raiden turns at the pile where Lu Meng is struggling to break free.
Raiden: "get off him."
Nikolai lets go first and with a nod from his Lord, Zhao Yun lets go allowing for Meng to get up as Raiden pick up his sword and held it to him. Lu Meng didn't say another word but took his sword and shed in humiliation while Wenji goes to Raiden's side and see him emotionless.
Cai Wenji: "my dear?"
Raiden: "let's go, thank you for the invitation." Wenji understood and bows to Lady Wu and Sun Quan before leaving with Raiden holding his arm.

Along the way back, Wenji looks at Raiden still emotionless and once in the guest house he goes to the backyard and lay against a tree still with that facial expression. Wenji was now worried for Raiden and approach before kneeling in front of him seeing his eyes are red, possibly from crying privately.
Cai Wenji: "are you ok?"
Raiden: "yeah..."
Cai Wenji: "have you been crying?"
Raiden: "no..." he answered with a whisper.
Cai Wenji: "you want to talk about it?"
Raiden: "no." she sighs then gave her last personally question.
Cai Wenji: "do you want a hug?" this time he took longer to answer the question.
Raiden: " ...yeah." Hearing his voice crack with a whisper when he answered made Wenji move to wrap her arms around him and held him closer. Raiden felt the warmth as he sniffled then face plant into her shoulder to stop his anxiety attack. for Wenji she fully understood his mental health was in a rapid decline but clinging at the edge and with her help she is able to let him calm down for now...

A month has pass by since the incident and everything is back normal for now. at the guest house Raiden was laying back and relaxing near a tree in the backyard Garden.
Dubs: "want to hear Neomuni News?"
Raiden: "what's that annoying reporter doing this time?"
Dubs: "i think he learn his lessons after you literally ear rape those who were listening."
Raiden: "i wasn't gonna tell em shit that's for sure." his Ghost tunes in the frequency and heard the Neomuna news jingle tune.

After the news ended Raiden sighs and shook his head then lays down and resumed his break until he heard Wenji calling for him.
Cai Wenji: "Eugene, Generals Zhao Yun is here and want to meet you, it looks urgent." He saw Zhao Yun walking in looking worried as he approach Raiden still laying under the tree's shade.
Zhao Yun: "Guardian there is a problem."
Raiden: "what is it man?"
Zhao Yun: "my Lord's behavior had changed after the marriage, Sun Quan gave him a mansion to live and given a large amount of gold and silver, including dancers and musicians who are coming in frequently."
Raiden: "and why should i care about this "problem"?"

Zhao Yun looks around to be sure until he goes closer to Raiden to whisper.
Zhao Yun: "The General Director gave me three pouches to open by time, one was to buy silks and gifts while spreading news about the marriage, the second is to be open at the end of the month which is today, and the last is for Emergencies only."
Raiden: "and what does it have to do with me?"
Zhao Yun: "this is for you to read." he hands it to Raiden and read what it said before sitting up.
Raiden: "this is a joke huh?"
Zhao Yun: "i fear my Lord has lost his path of Benevolence, please help us."
Raiden: "god im getting sick of hearing that word, come on."

The Guardian sighs as he stood up and summon his Ghost.
Dubs: "Guardian?"
Raiden: "stay here Ghost I'll be back." Before he left Wenji came back and saw he and Yun are leaving.
Cai Wenji: "where are you going?"
Raiden: "going out for a bit, I'll be back before lunch." She sighs as Dubs floats by her.
Dubs: "i don't like the sound of that."
Cai Wenji: "i hope he doesn't cause any trouble."

Raiden's POV

Arriving at place Liu Bei has been staying it was huge like a mansion and entering the space is big enough for a millionaire to live. he follows Zhao Yun to a room where he saw a man pacing back and forth until he saw them.
Zhao Yun: "Sun Qian."
Sun Qian: "General- Guardian?"
Raiden: "where's Liu Bei's weapons?"
Zhao Yun: "can you get them for the Guardian?"
Sun Qain: "why on heavens would you need-"
Raiden: "go fucking get it!" this scared him to immediately get Liu Bei's weapons as Raiden looked at the hall where dancer performing for Liu Bei who is laying back on his seat relaxed.
Raiden: "why should i even bother to deal with this?"
Zhao Yun: "it must happen, i also need to do my part." After Sun Qian came back with the swords, Zhao Yun took him away and disappear behind the corner letting Raiden to do his job.

The Guardian put on his mean face before entering the hall and interrupted the performance and music as he approach Liu Bei who is unaware. he flip the table to awaken him and pull him by the collar and shove him outside into the pavement.
Liu Bei: "how dare you!" Raiden pull out a sword and toss the Other Half to Liu Bei.
Raiden: "pick it up."
Liu Bei: "what is the meaning of this-" he dodge a sword attack and distance himself from his sword and Raiden kicks the sword closer to him.
Raiden: "Pick. it. up." Liu Bei angrily pull out his Other Half and gets into position for a duel.
Liu Bei: "i will teach you for your rudeness."

Without a word Raiden attacks with lightning speed which Liu Bei was caught off guard blocking every attack but began to waver due to Raiden's aggressive approach and at the same taunting him.
Raiden: "you believe you can revive a dynasty that killed itself?"
Liu Bei: "i been fighting on the battlefield for years i deserve this, as a warrior you understand!"
Raiden: "we're not the same." Being in a defensive Liu Bei switch gears and counter attacked against the Guardian.
Liu Bei: "i suffered every day after losing battles-"
Raiden: "maybe you deserve to lose your battles and for what, The Emperor has lost his control of his own country, heaven can't save him even your so called Benevolence, what a waste of time."
Liu Bei: "take back what you said!"

He swipes under Liu Bei's feet and fell the held a sword to his neck.
Raiden: "the Emperor is nothing but a bird in a gilded cage but that bird allow itself to be in it on purpose, he lost his mandate just like his father who fail as a Emperor, what made your nation rot is the corruption that came from the court feeding themselves as the people starve, you want to revive that?"
Liu Bei: "My brother was right, you are a Cao Dog." Raiden cut his cheek and resume holding him down.
Raiden: "im not a dog, im the Wolf who stays with his pack till the end... it seems you're about to leave yours if you keep this up."

Liu Bei is speechless by the reality check as Raiden plant the sword to the ground.
Liu Bei: "i made a promise to the Emperor that i will save him and keep the court uncorrupted and clean... i will not turn my back on this promise."
Raiden: "then your horrible in keeping promises." He held out a hand for him to grab.
Liu Bei: "my life..." he took his hand and was lift on his feet and look around his surroundings seeing the luxury he now possess.
Liu Bei: "all of this... pleasure, has made me so blind... how foolish i am."
Raiden: "enough, now you're back you got to get out of here as soon as possible."
Liu Bei: "but Lord Sun Quan and Zhou Yu may have plans to contain me here."

Raiden: "not Sun Quan but he has fears of having his own subordinates turn on him, we'll figure out a way and i know a plan for that..."
