Start from the beginning

- 7 g fast action yeast or 15 g fresh yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 200 mL warm water
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- a handful of thyme (the more the better!)

Recipe:

1. In a bowl, mix the yeast with sugar and warm water until it's frothy. Let it rest. If it's foamy, your yeast is activated.
2. In a big bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, and time together. Make a small hole and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
3. Kneed it all for at least ten minutes by hand or five minutes with a machine.
4. Form a big ball and rub a bit of oil around it. Put it in a clean bowl, cover with plastic wrap (or beeswax wrap!) and let it rise until it doubles in size (this should take 1-1.5 hours). Keep it in a warm place protected from wind.
5. Flatten the dough into a baking sheet, cover again, and let it rise for an hour.
6. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit or 220 Celsius.
7. Lightly press the top of the dough with your fingers and drizzle lightly in olive oil. Cool for about fifteen minutes until the top is a nice golden colour.

In this recipe, thyme is used to attract good health and salt and pepper are used for protection.

I made this and it was really tasty! Definitely recommend giving this a try as this was my first try making bread and it surprisingly turned out!

from thekitchenwitchblog.com

Ingredients:

2 Bosc pears, peeled
1 cup wine (white or red) or apple cider
½ cup bourbon or apple cider
1/3 cup agave nectar or honey
2 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 cinnamon stick
3 whole cloves or 2 star anise

Uncover and gently remove pears to a plate to rest. Turn insta-pot on simmer, cook and reduce sauce until it thickens and becomes slightly syrupy.
2. Stove top: In a large pot add wine, bourbon, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, cinnamon and cloves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and add pears. Cover and cook 15 to 20 minutes, turning the pears every 5 minutes. Remove pears, reduce remaining liquid by half or until it thickens and becomes slightly syrupy.
3. Place pears on a plate or shallow bowl and drizzle with syrup.

Pears, cinnamon, honey, bourbon and wine can all be used in love work.
