It's almost an hour until my lunch break and I still had the image of him in my head. "This is stupid" I whisper to myself. "What does stupid mean?" a little boy about 6 years old asks from behind me with is toy car in hand.

"Oh, it...it means nothing. Don't repeat that ever, ok?" The boy looked at me confused but smiled like he understood, then turn around and left. I hope I don't see his angry mother soon.

"Yo, Eva" Someone called me taking my attention away from the boy; Mr. Connor at his usual spot.

"Good Morning Mr. Conner, how are you?" A phrase so often repeated by myself that I feel unimaginative.

"I'm good, but better if you can get my usual lunch order" he gave me the menu and winked at me. Please, he's like 46 to 50 with white hair...gross.

"Of course, the usual, coming right up" I wrote it down and forced a smile, then went to Fabio to get the food ready. Waiting at the counter next to Lucy which was cleaning her glasses.

Oh, yeah she wears glasses...round glasses.

"You look horrible" I heard her say, still cleaning her glasses. I threw a napkin at her. Lucy laughs and I glared at her with a -shut up look-.

"It's not my fault" I said looking down at the table remembering the reason. "Oh yeah, your dreams are keeping you awake?" Teasing me...again.

"Shh, I'm serious. I've had the same dream for a while...normal ones. Yet this one...it's not. This one is driving me insane" Frustrated I held my face with my hands.

"Right, that mysterious guy with the gold eyes" Lucy said imitating my voice with a mocking look in her face "Ha, ha, ha first of all, I don't sound like that, second, go on make fun of me-..."

That's when it hit me.

"How do you know I'm having a dream trouble with a guy that's has gold eyes?" I ask her while I poured coffee in a cup for a costumer also added whip-cream to a plate of pancakes. "Um, I kind of enter your room and saw your drawings of him. So I figured"

What!? How did she get in; Noted, I need to lock the door when I shower.

"What? I lost my key and you had the spear, I'm sorry" I hate when she gives me the puppy eyes even throw the glasses; you just have to love her. "It's fine but next time, tell me" winking at her as she nodded her head while adding ketchup on some fries.

"Oh and I'm not making fun of you...ok, maybe a little; it's just funny seeing you frustrated" I gave her a -really look-. How can she say that? How can that be funny?! "It's true. You're always in control and calm. Seeing you like this is new and scary".

Scary?!

"Having everything planned and under control is something you do but this change has got you all ...messed...up." I kept staring at her, but she was right. Something I'll never tell her; call it pride.

I like having things under control yet this was getting out of my reach. "I just...I just can't get it. I can only his eyes in the dream, that's why I draw them, but... am I going insane?" I ask her with a worried look, she gives me a weird stare and starts laughing. I rolled my eyes, what a good friend...

"Ya Eva, she's right ya know. You gotta take it slow, live life, you think too much mija." I heard someone say. "You study all the time and work too" Fabio (the cook) said from the small window that leads to the chicken.

"What do you mean?" I ask as I turn to see him by the window. I have a life.

Ok, I don't.

"Meaning, ya got ya head in a tornado, empty ya mind." It's hard to understand him with his accent, but trust me, my mind is empty comparing to final exams week.

I didn't left the apartment in a week or had any sleep. Just by thinking of that made my mind blocked itself. If last semester was hard, I can't even imagine the next one. Then I hear the voice Lucy as it wakes me from my thoughts.

"He has a point Eva. Stop thinking about him; maybe that helps. Stop tormenting yourself, is probably just temporary." Lucy puts her hand on my shoulder as I exhale. "Yeah, maybe you have a point. Besides, college will start soon and I can't clear my mind of him."
I turn around to take a dirty plate and handed to Fabio.
"Yet, when I do think about him it feels so real, I can't explain it. It's always the same start and same ending. God, and his-"

"No, no, no" Fabio cut me in the middle of my sentence waving the knife in his hand. "No more mystery fella, ya heard?

"Bu-..."

'Nada' He cut me again, oh brother...

"Now back to work; order 15 and 19 are ready. Order up!"

*Ding, ding, ding!!!

"AH, Fabio!" Lucy and I scream at him. We both hate that damn bell, it hurt our ears.

"Oops, my sorrys" he said with puppy eyes. Lucy rolled her eyes while I laughed. Now I had to worry about serving the orders.

Finally is closing time. I'm the last the one to leave the dinner cos I'm the only one that comes an hour later.

"Thank you" Mumbling to myself, I'll I need now is a shower and some frozen yogurt. It's already 8:30 and I'm walking home exhausted and disappointed at myself. I couldn't get that guy out of my mind the whole day.

I even spilled coffee!

Thanks to that I had to work an extra hour plus Lucy ask me if I could fill her an hour as well. Argh!
And no matter what I still couldn't get him out of my mind.

Why is so hard to avoid a stupid dream?! It's not like I want it to happen...do I?

Then something called my interest; there was someone following me....suspiciously.
