Hewo friends.

today has been overall a dreadful day, :( except for my friend Evan who is more like my brother, because he visited from college for a little bit today. :)

AFTER READING: What do you think of Thea and Loki's father-daughter relationship? Is it true, even though it's tumultuous? Is it completely destructive to both of them? Give me your thoughts, I would like to see if they roughly align with my views/writer's perspective. <<<<< Putting this here at the beginning too in case the stupid thing doesn't show up at the bottom. Sorry.

here's another chapter! THanks for the petitions so far! :D

Dedicated to darling LadyHiddlesLoki because tomorrow is her 18th birthday! Wish her a special day! <3

*if the entire chapter doesn't show up, give it time to load, and then check back later- Wattpad hates me, I swear.*

Chapter Four

~Thea's POV~

Over the next couple weeks, I try my best to push Loki out of my mind. I have too many other things going on, and I don't think my brain or my heart can tolerate it any more. I also don't think about this so I can try to stop my charade. After my disastrous attempts at getting advice from Kyle and Emmaline, both Kyle and Max had treated me very suspiciously for the following two days.

It's almost November now, and the temperatures have dropped slightly, although there hasn't been a lot of rain. But as much as I've tried to ignore certain things in my life, they've been so distracting, I now have a solid D in math and a C- in science, no matter how much Jack and Peter attempt to help me.

I know Max and Kyle want to talk about my current academic status, so I avoid them. Unfortunately, I'm no match for one ex-spy and one current spy, so one Thursday night, which happens to be the day before Halloween, Max finally corners me just as I am trying to escape to my room with a bowl of fruit.

"Thea," he calls from the living room, where he's watching football with Kyle, "Come over here for a couple minutes."

I cringe mid-escape, and bang my head on my bedroom door.

"Do I have to?"

"It would make me happy," he replies.

Reluctantly, I walk into the living room. "What's up?" I ask as casually as possible.

He pats the seat on the sofa next to him, which is consequently next to Kyle (who raises his eyebrows at me) too, "Step into my office."

I groan, but reluctantly sit down.

"So," says Max, "School. How happy are you right now?"

"Depends on the day," I say.

"I'm serious," says Max.

I look up at the ceiling, "I don't know, okay, I guess."

"Okay ain't good enough, Ace," says Max, "So take a look at this." He hands me some booklet thing. It has the words "Umber Academy" written in scripty-font, across a photo of a beautiful, gothic-looking building with latticed windows, and students milling around an elm tree.

"Ah," I say, "So you've finally decided to send me to a psychiatric ward?"

Kyle snorts.

"If I would be sending anyone to a psychiatric ward, it would be Kyle," says Max mildly.
