It has been a few days since she appeared from the lake. They are testing her blood with the known races to find out where she comes from and who she could be connected with. Next is getting her to speak. She is currently childlike and still has no name. Many just call her Lady, but a few call her Eve because of her appearance. Nimlas and Ken headed back to the City of Orse leaving behind Cass and Max to handle the future of Eve.

"We are slowly trimming her hair down. And so far the tests are positive." Mr. Hallis told Cass as he watched Max interact with Eve. "There are no bad side effects."

"That is good to hear. What about the hatchling?" Cass asked as he saw Max laugh at a reaction Eve gave from having the tip of her nose touched.

"She is overall, healthy. Mentally, I think she has suppressed her memories or had been so focused on getting fixed she forgot everything." He looked at Cass. "Also at some point, I think she will revert to a normal state."

"Meaning?" He glanced down at the Dwarf.

"Meaning, now that her mind recognized that its body was healed she should start leaking the mana we are after." He raised his hand when Cass was going to speak. "I already have her wearing a collection of charms and explained how it worked. Eve picked it up quickly."

"Alright, so we should use this smartly and figure out how to recreate it," Cass said.

"Yes, we got a group already working on it, but when we find out her bloodline it should make it much easier to learn how to gather such pure mana." They were silent for a bit.

Cass looked at Eve and wonder what he could get to jog her memory.

"Are you ever going to name her?" Max asked as he came over with Eve clinging onto him. Her exceedingly long translucent hair trailed behind her.

"Why not just go with Eve. It seems to fit the hatchling." Cass said with an annoyed look.

They all were silent until Max talked again. "Evangeline." He got looks from Hallis and Cass. "Eve or Eva for short."

Cass stared him down and asked. "Why that name?"

"Because it fits. Plus are you keeping her locked away in here?" Max replied.

"We would not be able to sense she can teleport so freely," Hallis told them.

"With magic on par with Florences, none of you could stop the hatchling if she wanted to walk out," Cass said bluntly.

Hallis looked at Cass and then turned away. "Well, then once we get her hair trimmed down to an appropriate length. You should take her with you."

"Excuse me, Mr. Hallis what did you suggest?" Cass glared down at the Dwarf with glowing red eyes.

"You heard me Sir Cassius Zurden." He looked bluntly at him as Max guided Eve away who had a curious look on her face.

"There is no way I am taking care of that hatchling." Cass hissed.

"You are the best option. As you are the only one who can overpower her." Hallis stated.

"I get that, but I refuse. That hatchling will need a lot of care and I won't be her guardian." Cass said firmly.

"Then who can we get to take care of her? Your sister?" Hallis glared up at him.

"No, not Florence. No telling what that woman will teach her." Cass rubbed his left temple. "I'll look into someone becoming the hatchling's guardian. Even if I have to hire a whole team."

"It would be better if it was someone she already knew."

"The hatchling has the mentality of a newly pipped drake. A new person shouldn't be a problem."

Hallis sighed. "Where are you going to find someone as powerful as you or Florance?"

"I will find someone. There are plenty of beings that owe me."

Hallis groaned as he reached up and patted his back. "I sure hope they still see you in a good light."

"Why wouldn't they?"

The Dwarf shook his head. "We will have the hair trimmed down in two more days. It will grow back rather quickly, so I suggest harvesting it every two days to keep it manageable." He told him. "Consider it though. She is too valuable to lose to a competitor."

"Fine, Dwarf. But it will be the last option on my list." Cass scoffed.

"Good." Hallis smiled, glad he got Cass to agree though it wasn't his first choice.

Max was letting Eve be curious. She always seemed fascinated by the other creatures who were different from her. If they would let her touch them, should be comparing skin, their hair, and whatever else she could see and touch. Which she seemed to love to touch his. Taking any chance she could to touch it.

"Eve, take it easy," Max told to her. Even though she had the mind of a child, she was still, physically, an adult. Eve tilted her head at the sound of the door opening caught her attention.

A beautiful, curvy, brown-skinned woman entered the room with a cart of food for the group. "I figured, y'all still be in here." The door shut behind her as Eve came running up to her. "Hello, sweety. I see you kept your dress on." She praised Eva who refused to wear clothing at first. "Are you hungry?" She laughed at the exaggerated nod Eve did. "I get my hug first."

The Dwarf grinned as Eve hugged her and then was allowed to take her plate. "How are you doing this lovely evening, Ms. William?" He spoke in a flirtatious tone.

"All better, now that I see you." She replied. "Behave now." She warned after seeing the mischievous look he was giving her. "We have got cornbread, pot roast, green beans, and peach cobbler." She told them. She opened a small ice chest that held different drinks. "Sir Zurdern, your plate has been made for your tastes." She sounded a bit annoyed, but she reminded herself he wasn't staying long.

They all sat down as Ms. Williams was teaching Eve how to use silverware. The others talked about the new tiny battery design and how they could get the pure mana to flow smoothly out without causing any dangerous mana leaks that could cause the life of the battery to shorten.
