Chapter 5 - Hidden memories

Start from the beginning

We soon reach The Buenos Aires Park.

- This park is so beautiful. - I comment.

- I know. See that diversion park for kids? - He points at an enclosure, where there's a slide, some swings and other child things.

- Yeah. - I confirm.

- We used to play there together.

- Really?

- Yes. I have pictures of that.

- Cool! I can't wait to see your kid face! - I laugh.

He joins. In the following moment of silence, I think of what we were going through.

- Do you realise this?

- Realise what?

- We used to came here as kids, separated and came back together again to the same place, years after? - I ask.

- You're right.

- And to celebrate this, let's take a selfie.

We burst into laughter as I take my phone out and press 'Camera'.

- Ready?

He moans in concordance.

- 3, 2, 1...

Click. The camera takes the photo and we see it joining our heads, not realising how close our faces were. We awkwardly move away.

- Great pic! - I comment, obviously blushing.

- Yeah.

A deep silence comes after broke by León.

- So... you enjoyed the party?

- A lot. And... I guess I have to thank you about that. - I say.

- Why? - He asks, confused.

- If it wasn't you, being a stalker, coming to my house at night and asking my dad if I could go to that party, I would have never go. - I say, in a joke tone.

- Stalker? - He laughs.

- Yeah! - I join.

- But, ummm... no problem. Anytime. - He has a sincere smile on his face.

I go near the lake and a fresh breeze is coming from it. I suddenly feel his eyes on me.

- What?

- Nothing. - He shrugs.

I hear a piano song coming out from my bag. It's my phone.

- Dad?

- Yeah. Ummm... Just checking on you.

- Really? I'm seventeen! - I yell.

- I know... Sorry. I won't call you more. Sorry.

- Bye. - I say, before press 'End call'.

- Why is he so overprotective?

- He's your father. - León comes closer.

- But I'm seventeen! He doesn't have to control me every hour. - I protest. - And it hurts me that he doesn't trust me.

León embraces me.

- He trusts you. He just cares about you. Maybe more than he should. - He softly says.

Then we pull and I give him a weak smile.

- Thank you.

- No problem.

- Wanna a tour to Buenos Aires? - He tries to cheer me up.
