Gabby followed close behind Simon and Ms. Mittens all the way to Chicken's house, and once they arrived, she muttered under her breath, "Samantha and Drew's house? Good thing they gave me a spare key..."

Gabby opened the door and followed the cats into the living room, freezing on the spot as soon as she saw Chicken's bloody corpse. "Oh my god," she said, covering her mouth to prevent her from throwing up, "Oh. My god."
She immediately pulled out her phone and dialed Samantha, one of Chicken's owners.

"Gabby? What is it?" Samantha asked, "Sam... Sam your cat..." Samantha became extremely worried at those words, "Gabs, what's wrong with Chicken?" Gabby stayed silent, "Gabriela, what is wrong with my cat." After a few seconds of silence, Gabby stuttered out, "He died..."

"You're joking, you have to be, Chicken was perfectly fine this morning, and there's no way anyone could've got in!" Samantha got defensive quick, not wanting to believe her beloved chicken the one and only, lawnmower, seriously he sounds like a lawnmower when he purrs, is dead.

After a while of silence, other than small sobs coming from the other end, Samantha finally spoke up "Me and Drew are coming home. Please don't let anyone near or in the house until I get there," And with that Sam ended the call, and started to drive with Drew in the passenger seat.

It's been a couple hours, Gabriela having done exactly what Sam told her. Drew and Samantha pulled into the driveway with a rental car, their car is currently getting fixed due to one of the headlights falling out. Sam immediately ran inside to see what happened, her husband following close behind.

"I'm sorry for your loss, is there anything I can do to help?" It was unnerving to hear Gabby without her usual cheery tone, though said tone would be disrespectful in this type of situation. Drew thought about it for a bit, "No, it's ok Gabriela, you should go home, I'll get Ms. Mittens back to her owner," Gabby just nodded, hugging both Drew and Sam in an attempt of comfort, then left. Simon meowed at Mittens and started after his owner.

"I'm sorry Chicken, I'll find who did this, I promise," Mittens meowed. Sam finally noticed she was there and gave the cat some scritches, "You poor thing, having to see your friend like this.." Mittens rubbed her head against the human's leg and meowed, before running out the cat door and home.

•~-With Gabby-~•

"Darling, I'm home!" Gabby knew it was best to tell her fiancé that she's here, before burying her face in Simon's fur and proceeding to ignore her surroundings; yeah maybe not the best coping method.. but at least it wasn't harmful to anyone! Footsteps cut her thoughts off before they could stray as they usually do. "Welcome back home honey, where did you go this time?" Jacklyn asked curiously, "Mittens and Simon lead me to Sam's house, the rest of that can be told by Samantha when she's ready, I don't wanna tell anyone without her consent."

No one in this town was disrespectful, they all had boundaries and never shared info unless they were told they could, that's what gave the fiancés the idea to move here, everyone seemed nice, now this is happening. This town just can't catch a break, can it?

"I'm gonna be ordering food in a bit, what would you like Gabs?" That got Gabby out of her thoughts again, "Pizza and movie night?" "Absolutely," A couple of minutes passed and the pizza got here, trying to keep her thoughts off of poor Chicken, Gabby chose a comedy movie.

          •~-With Samantha-~•

Sam was hyperventilating, she knew that, but she couldn't stop. Chicken's lifeless body is just on the floor in the middle of the room. "How could we let this happen?!" She didn't mean to yell, Drew didn't seem to mind though. "We had no way of knowing it was gonna happen dear, it's not our fault.." It was obvious Drew himself didn't even believe his own words, but Chicken would forgive them, right?..

They heard Jacob's car drive past, so Ms. Mittens got home right? Sam hoped so, picking up Chicken's body, and bringing it outside, digging a small grave in her backyard for the poor cat to rest in. It was the least she could do at the moment. This wouldn't have happened if she stayed.  She knew that wasn't true, there was no way of preventing it, but she couldn't help but blame herself. "Mrrow" What was that? "Meow!" It's Mittens. "What are you doing here girl? You should head back to Mr. Chancellor, kitty." Sam didn't wanna know what could happen to Mittens if the cat stayed over here, so she picked Mittens up and carried her over to her owner. "I have Mittens with me Jacob, it's alright."
