|Poland,
Auschwitz Death Camp,
Year: 1944|
Hanna crept along through the shadows in misery, watching as the families worked until they were dead as it went on, and on and on, just like it had since the war had begun along with the genocide.
Hanna spotted the face of a man in his early twenties at the oldest and at the sight of him, her eyes widened a bit.
"Brother?"
Hanna had some very, very limited telepathic abilities and she watched from the shadows, waiting to see if he had heard her.
"Piotr? My brother?"
Hanna was horrified to see his face and that when he finally looked up, it was clear to her that he had been hit repeatedly. Hanna wanted to cry, but one of her hands clamped over her mouth to keep the cries inside, for her sake of not being discovered again by the Nazis.
"Sister... I thought you dead."
"But I am not. I have come to free you from this torment. I wish to set you free brother, please. Come with me."
"I thought that you were long, long... long dead. So why, sister have you returned here? You can disappear from view as none of us ordinary people can. You should have run far away, far far away as soon as you escaped this torment."
"No! I have stayed to fight for my people! Have you not noticed the lack of children that have escaped from this evil place, Auschwitz, over the last few years?"
"That was you? But how?"
"I got into the gas chambers, just before they would have released the gas. I grabbed as many as I could and I forced them out of there. I wanted to get more, so I kept doing that. I only wanted to help. Come with me, Piotr, please."
"I cannot. I must stay here and continue to work, or all of them will soon be huntin' us both down. I will not have you putting yourself into this camp again! Leave! Now!"
Hanna's tears, they had begun to roll down her cheeks at the order that she had been given, as she turned away to face the wall again, ready to open yet another portal.
Until she heard it, desperate screaming and a familiar voice, a familiar voice that she had once been able to rescue.
"Erik."
Hanna was jumping through the shadows to get closer and closer to the commotion, that was being caused by a group of guards trying to restrain Erik Lehnsherr, who had clearly been separated from his parents.
Hanna's eyes widened to the size of moons, as she heard the creaking of the metal gate that seemed to match up with the timing of Erik's desperate screaming for his mother and Hanna's eyes were suitably shocked, when the gate gave with a screech of steel and she lunged at the guards without any thought in her head, when she saw a guard hitting Erik with a gun.
When Hanna's emotions took over and took over all control, both of her eyes had turned into black pits of the pure and terrifying darkness of the shadows.
The shadows reared up around her and Hanna lunged at the guards, as they put up their guns to shoot her at the moment as Hanna shook her head and the shadows lunged at them and a moment later, she felt a gun punch into the back of her head and Hanna's shadows shuddered and faltered, and she fell hard, slipping into the muddy and wet dirt, right in front of the rest of the Nazis that had been holdin' Erik a few moments ago.
Hanna woke up in a well lit room with shackles and chains restraining her, as she was against a table and she was barely able to shift around in any, any direction.
Hanna felt eyes on her and to her horror, she saw Nazis with surgical masks above her and she tried to start screaming, as they were approaching her with tools and scalpels, in order to cut her open.
Hanna was stuck on that table for countless hours, she did not know when the torture finally stopped and she was still lying on the table.
Hanna through bleary eyes full of tears, tears of pain and exhaustion both... she spotted that there were two bodies on the ground.
Hanna felt a hand on hers and Hanna's eyes widened slightly, as she turned her head very slightly to see it was Erik standing there.
"Can you hear me?"
"You can read minds?"
"Limited in terms of power... how are you here?"
"Klaus Schmit."
"Can you get me out of here??"
"I don't know how."
Suddenly, Klaus Schmit was in the room and he had a metal knife in his hand. He walked over to Hanna, who was growling in a fury.
Hanna tried to move, but she was unable to move and Klaus stabbed the knife down and Hanna screamed loud at the sudden pain in her shoulder.
As Schmit smirked, he yanked out another knife and he stabbed it down at her shoulder again, but this time, it was forced to stop and hover over her shoulder.
Hanna opened her eyes with a whimper, as Erik had his hand out toward the knife and it was stopped in midair. Schmit chuckled softly and he released the knife, and Erik sent it clattering away from them both.
Schmit left them alone and thanks to Erik's sudden wish to let her out, her restraints popped open, and Schmit's eyes were smirkin' as he was shutting the door behind him and the lock was clicking.
Erik gently put pressure on Hanna's wound with his jacket, as Hanna was focusing and their shadows started to creep toward them.
Hanna's eyes darkened very slightly and the shadows formed a needle and thread as she was focusing and then it started to stitch up the bloody wounds in her shoulder.
Erik's eyes widened to the size of moons, as Hanna's eyes lightened back up to the golden-brown eyes, that she normally had and all of the wounds were stitched up for her sakes, but unfortunately, her clothes were still covered in blood.
"How did you do that?" Erik asked and Hanna shrugged her shoulders slightly at him.
"My power is anything to do with darkness. Shadows can heal me and much more importantly, they can kill anyone who dares to try to harm me... or people I care about." Hanna said as she sighed and Erik looked at her.
"Schmit killed my mother." Erik murmured and Hanna looked at him with her eyes widening to the size of moons, as she gently moved her arms around him in a hug.
"I am so sorry." Hanna said quietly and softly as he leaned into the hug and she put her chin gently onto his shoulder. "I won't let you lose anyone else." She murmured softly, as he was crying quietly and she shook her head at him. "I promise." Hanna whispered.
