Part 29- Telling the families'

Everyone's eyes widened, shocked was an understatement for they felt, "Ishqi, yeh koi mazak karne ki cheez nahi hai!" Sania said- 

Ishqi: Mazak hi toh nahi hai...a-abhi abhi mall se breakup karke aa rahe hai..

Zayan: But why?! We thought you liked him!

Dadi: Ahaan puttar?!

Savitri sensed the nervousness on Ishqi and Ahaan's faces, she knew they still needed to reveal more so to help them out a bit she shushed everyone else and asked them to continue. 

Savitri: Ek second! Aap log inn dono ko apni baat puri kehne toh dijiye..

Everyone quietened and Ahaan started speaking, "J-Jab aap saab logon ne meri aur Ishqi ki engagements Rahul/Rhea se announce ki toh that came as an "expected" shock for us. Hum dono uss waqt apni feelings ko leke bohot zyada confuse the and uss ke saath saath family, responsibilities and dusro ke emotions ka bhi dihan karna tha so humne unn feelings ko ignore maara and we put on fake smiles and didn't object with the announcements."

Now, everyone had mostly gotten the idea of what Ishqi and Ahaan were talking about, neither of them were currently very happy nor very mad. There was silence and Ishqi took that as a sign of things settling in, she began taking as well, "Jaise jaise engagement(s) ka time kareeb ata gaya utni hi meri aur AVM ke feelings ek dusre ke liye strong hoti gayi...Aur phir finally, engagement waali raat humne na chah ke bhi confess kardiya...Lekin uss waqt na hi toh humare paas koi plan tha, na hi waqt, aur na hi koi idea ke aage kya karna hai so we just went through with the engagements."

Ahaan: Aur phir aaj hum dono ne decide kiya ke saab ko batana better rahega...we apologized and told Rahul/Rhea a few hours ago and we promise ke hum Mehta's and Oberoi's se sorry bhi maang le ge. 

As Ahaan finished speaking, both him & Ishqi realized that their little secret was now out in the open. Everyone knew but no one was saying anything which was clearly making them both very tense. 

Ahaan: Ishqi aur mein ek dusre se p-pyaar karte hai aur hum sagai k-

Dadi cut him off, "Ahaan! Ishqi! Tum dono ka dimaag kharab toh nahi hogaya?! Kaise ajeeb ajeeb baatein kar rahe ho?!"

DM: Haan! Aur sirf rings wapis karne se engagements nahi tooti! Agar tum dono ko inn saab se problem tha toh pehle batate! Aab bohot derr ho chuki hai! Kya sooche ge Oberoi's aur Mehta's hum saab ke baare mein?! 

Tara and Kartik were now too getting worried as to how the families were reacting, they both intervened, "Aap log thoda toh shant rahiye...Ahaan bhaiyya aur Ishqi di ek dusre ke saath khush hai toh aap log maan jaiye na" Tara pleaded as she stepped forward- 

Kartik: Hmm, aur zabardasti ke rishton mein koi khush nahi rehta! 

Manav (Ishqi's Dad) : Jald baazi mein liye hue faisle insaan ko pachtawe ke ilava kuch nahi dete! he said as he furiously exited the room, Ishqi ran behind him followed by Kartik.

Ishqi went behind her father to try and convince him while he charged towards his room, Manav left the door open and slumped onto the chair angrily while Ishqi followed, "Dad please" Ishqi said as she bent down on her knees in front of him. 

Ishqi: I'm sorry- Mein jaanti houn ke aap mujhse bohot zyada gussa ho and to be fair, thoda gussa toh banta hai but mein aapko hurt nahi karna chahati thi, saab kuch itni jaldi hua ke- 

Manav cut her off, "Ishqi, you've always been my star kid- Saare baachon mein se mujhe tumpe saab se zyada mann tha..Mujhe humesha se lagta tha ke Tara & Zayan kuch bhi kaare, tum mujhe kabhi bhi let down nahi karogi...but you did!"

Ishqi had tears in her eyes, she felt terrible but knew and was completely sure that her love for Ahaan was worth fighting for. "I'm sorry...but mein Ahaan se bohot pyaar karti houn, bohot khush rahoungi unn ke saath"

Manav: Aur Oberoi's ka kya?! Unn logon ne humesha se tumhe apni beti maana hai, Rahul tumse kitna pyaar karta hai, bachpan se jaante ho ek dusre ko..tumhe Ahaan aur uski family se mile hue abhi ek mahine bhi nahi hua! Ek itna barah faisla itni jaldi kaise le sakti ho!

Ishqi: Dil milne chahiye, din nahi...

Manav: Ishqi, tum abhi choti ho and ek bohot galat faisla le rahi ho and as your father, mein iss decision mein tumhe support nahi karunga..

Ishqi was disheartened at the things her father was saying, she knew all her efforts were going in vain, but still, for the sake of Ahaan and herself she kept going, trying to convince him, "Dad, I know ke yeh decision lene mein humne bohot jaldi ki but I swear yeh galat decision nahi hai...aur aap hi toh humesha kehte hai na ke jinn rishton mein khushi na ho woh rishte zyada derr nahi chalte? Toh phir aap kaise chah sakte hai ke mein ek aise insaan ke saath rahoun jiss se mein kabhi pyaar nahi kar poungi?" 

Manav: Ishqi beta, tum jaanti ho ke mujhe humesha se yakeen raha hai ke meri beti humesha dusro ko apne aap se pehle rakhti hai, kabhi bhi purposely kissi ko dukh nahi pounchati but aaj.....Ahaan ke pyaar mein parr ke itne logon ka dil thod rahi ho? I'm very disappointed in you Ishqi! 

Ishqi: But Dad Rahul se shaadi karne ka decision mera nahi tha! Meine buss apni family ke liye haan kardi...mein khush nahi thi..

Manav: Toh aab bhi apni family ke liye haan kardo...Kar lo Rahul se shaadi aur maana kardo Ahaan ko..Please- 

Ishqi: N-

He cut her off and took her hands in his, "Please beta, meine humesha tumhari har baat maani hai, har khawaish puri ki hai, tum apne dad ke liye itna nahi kar sakti? Aur tumhe baad mein realize hoga ke meine tumhare liye kitna sahi faisla liya hai..."

Ishqi: But Ah-

Manav: Agar tumne aisa nahi kiya toh bohot kuch barbaad hojaiga, Malhotra's aur humein, dono families ko sharminda hona pareyga. Dou families ke liye tumhe yeh karna pareyga...

Ishqi remained silent, sensing the situation getting out of her hand- She couldn't agree! But she couldn't refuse as well. Ishqi kept mum-

Manav: Ishqi? I need an answer? Haan yah na?

Ishqi: I-

Q: IN AROUND 2-3 CHPS WOULD YOU GUYS LIKE A DIVORCE TRACK/CHAPTER OR NO?? (idk of who tho ;) 

Also, I wanted to write this ch to express that things don't always go as planned and predicted, sometimes people are emotionally pressured by the ones they trust and rely on the most. In this case, Ishqi's father is emotionally blackmailing her to agree for something she does not find happiness in for his own reasons.

(People who've watched "Ziddi Dil Maane Na" will understand ;) For this part, I was inspired by an ep of ZDMN. In that show, Monu is pressurized and emotionally blackmailed by her father to do something she does not want to, simply because she's too scared to stand for herself. There, Karan stood for her, shielding her from further emotional manipulation and giving her the strength to take a stand for herself. Who do you think will stand for Ishqi? Ahaan? Kartik? Zayan? or Herself?
