She was a cynic. Could you really blame her though? Every relationship she'd ever seen, had fallen apart through lust for another and words of alcohol. Her parents lasted nine years, her mother's second marriage lasted seven, her father's five. Even close family friends divorced after 20 years of being stuck together.

He was a romantic. Born with loving parents and all the right stories. High School sweethearts everyone swore were doomed to fail.

She didn't want to be so cynical all the time, but it was all she knew, all she'd been taught. To love yourself is one thing, to claim to love another is a plain lie.

He didn't want to be a romantic. Something about falling for someone so easily irked him to no end.

Them meeting was fate's way
of saying "There aren't any happy endings, and I'm going to make sure you two remember that forever."
