Hello! I'm going to enter some of my poems into a poetry contest. It means a lot to me:-) We can send up to three poems in, and I have a few.... can you please read them and tell me the ones the you personally like the best? Thanks so so so much! :-)
POEM 1 -Collision
One step, Two steps,
The adorable toddler pitty patters up to me,
Small nose,
Flushed cheeks,
Toothing smile,
Takes my hand and smiles sweetly,
Smiling back we get into the car,
Singing to songs and laughing,
Starts to cry,
I look back- big mistake,
A collision,
A cry,
Blood,
Swirling world,
The cry stops.
All my fault,
Child dead,
Look down on the fragile white coffin,
Family in tears,
It's not your fault they say,
But I'll never forget the day,
When the cry stopped,
When I would never see thos pretty eyes smiling up at me,
Never feel the tinsiest of hands in mine,
Never brush that soft hair,
Never see the smile,
Never sing the same again,
Never smell that small child smell,
Never.
PoEM 2- Trains
Memories fade and people walk away,
Like a train,
Fading in the distance,
But coming a new,
People get off,
People come on,
Sometimes even you get off,
Everyone has their train,
No matter how long or short,
It is.
POEM 3- Winter Ghosts
Freezing cold,
As teardrops pour down,
Cold ground,
Cold feet,
Teardrops freeze as they touch your cheeks,
Mouth is blue,
Skin is pale,
Like the sky,
Snow falls,
Covers the ground,
As it covers the body,
The only color,
Are bright red drops,
Covering the snow covered ground,
Where the girl lays,
Black eyelashes cover the closed eyes,
