whether it's a creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky, and altogether ooky season or not; i think we can all agree that the addams family (be it the movie, the shows, or just the bunch themselves) are some of the best in that field. they've taken dark humour to the level that's far too dark to be not funny, in all honesty.

i think that the 1964 sitcom is underrated, with the 1991 and 1993 movies being the ones considered as iconic (i can see why, though — for me, wednesday & the dynamics between mr & mrs adams carried the two films). it just appeals to me more than the other adaptations did, especially because it's set in a time that's not the present day. i don't know. i have a growing fondness for old movies and tv shows.

carolyn jones is my favourite morticia, despite anjelica huston doing a terrific job in the movies. there's just this elegance and grace tied into her portrayal that gives it a certain air. it's somewhat more fabulous, i think.

moving on to the cover: even if the subject is the original tish, i still wanted to give the cover a reference to the movies and what better way than her signature eye look? no, not the makeup, the spotlight. i just kind of went along with the blue tint that i gave her to make her skin more anjelica morticia-esque.

it turned out wonderful to me, though i did stress over the text an awful lot. the effect comes from Raichia, by the way, which i got from her stargazing collection. it's about time i put her gifts of wonderful materials to good use.
