I stood from the ground, wrapping her body around me and dialling Theo's number with the other.

"Roman, don't tell my brother," She pleaded, her glossy eyes boring into my own and I looked away, nodding once.

"Yeah?"

"Arabella's not feeling well, I'm taking her back to mine. Let her brother know." I said while making it out of the park.

"Yeah, no worries. She all right?"

"She's fine." I replied flatly and he got the message, saying a swift goodbye and hanging up.

Unlocking the car, I opened the door up and slowly unwrapped her from me, placing her body inside.

Buckling her in, I shut the door and run a hand through my hair.

Rippling rage ran through me like wildfire.

When I find out who was trying to assassinate Arabella, they best be hiding cause God knows what I'll do to them.

I slid into the car, slammed the door shut, and pushed on the ignition. I leant back in my seat and backed out of the parking spot.

"Roman," Her velvety voice called in a whisper.

As I sped out of the parking lot, I turned my head to her. Her grey eyes drew me in, blinking enthrallingly as she stared at me.

"Are you okay?" She asked, her voice trembling with concern but also a modicum of trepidation.

I gave a quick nod and returned my attention to the road. I reasoned that if I spoke, my tone would be much harsher than it needed to be.

It was the sudden impulse inside of me to kill something, someone. Even just looking at Arabella made me impactly mad.

Thankfully, she didn't ask any more questions and simply turned away.

Sighing, I leant my arm against the window once stopping at the peak of traffic. Reaching that hand to my jaw, I massaged it and brought my gaze to her.

She stared out the window, her full lips were in a natural pout, showing me she was upset.

While one of her legs was lifted up to her chin, her fingers circled her thigh absentmindedly.

Clenching my jaw, I took my hand placing it on her inner thigh and squeezing it to grab her attention.

She swiftly lifted her head towards me, her normally vibrant eyes were glossy and held a profound sort of concern.

I raised my hand to her chin and drew it towards me.

She gazed at me with saddened eyes, causing something in my heart to ache—it was an unfamiliar sensation, one I hadn't experienced before.

"I'm scared, Roman."

Furiously, my jaw tightened and I felt myself become dangerously provoked. Calmly, I inhaled through my nose and brought her against my chest.

She cuddled up toward me, her warm body regulating my pulse. And her hands hugged around my neck, tightly.

Her body softened beneath me, which consciously calmed me. Cars began to move as I returned my gaze to the front.

Releasing her body, I caught a glimpse of her frowning but it quickly turned into surprise as I swiftly unbuckled the belt and hitched her up, placing her body between my legs.

She fit perfectly between the gap and I hooked my arms around her waist, securing her.

She cuddled herself into my body by dangling her feet over the side of the chair and looping her arms around my own waist.
