To be eligible to enter and win the Celebrate Africa Awards 2021, you and your story/stories must abide by all of the eligibility criteria below:
AGE: You must be 13 years or older to participate.
COMPLETION: Your story must be complete and marked 'Completed' in order to be eligible.
CATEGORIES: Your story needs to fall into one of the following categories – Chicklit, ContemporaryLit, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Horror, Literary Fiction, Mystery/Thriller, New Adult, Paranormal, Romance, Science Fiction, Young Adult
WORD COUNT: Depending on the category you submit your entry in, it should fulfill the following word count requirements →
- Novella: minimum 10,000 words
- Novel: minimum 50,000 words
STORY LANGUAGE: Your story should be written in English only.
TERRITORY: You must be an African (living anywhere in the world) and have written an African-themed story.
DATE POSTED: Story posted in any year is eligible as long as it fulfills the other eligibility criteria.
SUBMISSION: Be sure your story is tagged with #CelebrateAfrica then submit your entry via this submission form. You are welcome to submit more than one eligible story but you must submit a separate form for each one.
